Play classic ZX Spectrum games online! (http://www.zxspectrum.net/)
There are many people out there – such as myself – who have been introduced to the world of computing via the massively popular micro-computer from the eighties, the ZX spectrum. Who doesn’t recall the tedious tape loading times, the psychadelic sidebars and that loveable screeching noise? Who can’t relate to the feeling of waiting (sometimes up to) several minutes to play those glorious 8-bit videogame hits which offered unrivaled mistique and entertainment?

Well, for anyone up to relive such warm childhood memories, I’ve just found the perfect website! Within http://www.zxspectrum.net/, you’ll be able to play some of the most popular spectrum games ever – such as turmoil, manic miner and chuckie egg! – all sorted by year of production. No downloads necessary! This cool website lets you choose the game from a list and (since the games are so small, when compared to moder-day standards), start playing immediately!

Also, if you’re looking for a comprehensive website focusing the ZX spectrum, including all games that were ever published and much information, check out http://www.worldofspectrum.org/ instead. This website only provides the ROM files, so you’ll also need to download an emulator (there are emulators available for pretty much any machine you can think of, from PC and MAC to X-BOX, PS2, PSP and NDS… even cell phones. If you’re interested in learning more about that, just write a note and I’ll post a follow-up, soon enough.
Here’s a nice video collage of spectrum games that I’ve found:
