Enjoy your body, nurture your feelings!
If you’ll excuse me for the oxymoron, there’s something I’d like to say: We’re effectively living in a deeply shallow society. Yeah, everyone who has eyes enjoys looking at pretty things, and everyone who has a body enjoys the idea of drawing attention and desire. That’s pretty much how things work in our modern societies, and to be honest I really don’t think there’s anything wrong about it! I mean, not as long as we don’t place our looks in front of what really matters (like our feelings, for example)!
There’s really nothing wrong in trying to shape-shift our bodies to try and make them look more pleasant. So you don’t like your nose? If you can afford it, get it changed! Feel bad for being flat-brested? Simple! Treat yourself with a boob job surgery, there are many clinics out there specializing in cosmetic surgery. It’s really okay if you want to look your very best, but all the while, don’t forget there’s more to each and every one of us than meets the eye. And I’m not even going to say it’s what inside that really matters, because that’s quite obvious – or at least is should be.
My message for the new year is thus: do whatever you feel like doing, do whatever works for you. Enjoy yourself best way you can, but also do everyone a favor and try to keep your perspective fresh. And do your best to remain open to your feelings and everybody else’s… in time you’ll realize that works just like cosmetic surgery for the soul!
