Scooters and Motorized Wheel Chairs

§ January 30th, 2009 § Filed under society § No Comments

It has become a fact for some years now that traffic in cities can be quite unbearable. This is even more relevant for people with locomotion disabilities. Many drivers seem too be looking around for options, and these should account for two main traits: the chosen transport has to provide the same efficiency of a car, and preferably, it will be cheaper to use.

Nowadays, electric scooters are one provide a common solution to this problem. These machines are already available for those who will probably benefit more from them – people with limited mobility. Shops have specialized selling not only these items, but also related accessories, like motorized wheel chairs. These can be found either in a regular shop, or even more accessible, by looking them up on the web.

This is a principle that’s clearly illustrated in the following funny video, where a pranker learns a valubable lesson about Karma and wrongdoing. Yup, he pretty much gets screwed quite softly, and in more than a way… I think that suits him good! This is something that all prankers should keep in mind: watch out for the karmic backlash!

How about that: there are Flowers on the web!

§ January 30th, 2009 § Filed under Uncategorized § No Comments

Flowers have been for centuries one of the richest means of expressing one’s feelings. Their never ending colors, perfumes, shapes and touch, make them a special way to keep in contact with the best that nature has to offer us, as well as to propitiate pleasant environments – either at home, parties, formal events and others – and of course, pleasant experiences.

I was happy to find out that now there are also ways to find my favorite
flower delivery services on the internet. It seems some people are betting on making this possible, as companies like Martha Stewart Flowers are already take this business seriously.
At shops like Martha Stewart Flowers, all kinds of flowers are available – roses for passion, exotic orchids, and many others – and shipped worldwide. It is interesting to notice they make available fresh flowers, and ranging from small to large quantities. And of course, needless to say all kinds of flower arrangements can be provided, according to the clients’ demands and specifications.
These kind of companies are presenting a service aiming to please virtually any particular taste, and delivering fresh, colorful flowers, and by means of a practical online shop, through which one can find exactly the kind of flowers or plants one is looking for.

Is that some kind of beast? Oh, just celebrities without make up.

§ January 30th, 2009 § Filed under funny § Tagged , , § No Comments

You know… I was the kind of gullible person who really didn’t think that make-up really changed the way people look. I used to think it just provided cover for some minor superficial imperfections, and that people who are genuinely beautiful always looked beatiful no matter what. Well, after watching this video showcasing several celebrities in their natural look, all I can say is … wow, I really had no idea.

I will let see for yourself and to make your own judgement, but I’m warning this is some impressive footage:

Health Insurance: Because faceplants can’t always be predicted.

§ January 22nd, 2009 § Filed under ideas § Tagged , , , § No Comments

That’s just how it goes, in real life: you can’t always predict when you’re gonna get faceplanted. Actually… well, okay — sometimes it’s a little predictable (check following video for a good example), but no matter how carefully you try to keep from getting caught up in potentially harmful situations, sometimes life just pulls the rug from under your feet … and sometimes it does so just too literally for comfort.

I don’t know about you… but after watching this video, I’m with two minds. In one hand I feel that I would never put myself in such a stupid situation as depicted above. But on the other hand I also feel that accidents just have a way of slipping by… and with THAT in mind, it certainly doesn’t hurt checking out some health insurance quotes.

There’s really no fool-proof way of making sure you’ll be kept safe from injury in your daily activities; regardless, finding a way to protect yourself and your loved ones in case something would happen is as simple as getting some insurance quotes, and eventually decide upon a good health insurance plan. You can never be too careful, right? And all is good fun until someone gets hurt.

Personally, I think it’s much to do with being detached from everything, including what people think of you. So, I’m showing this video because there’s a comedian who really doesn’t mind making fun of himself… I mean, he actually goes and reads some of his hate mail on stage, and it actually turns out quite funny:

The amazing daredevil railroad caT!

§ January 21st, 2009 § Filed under funny § Tagged , , § No Comments

I was browsing along youtube, and I found this video that deeply impressed me. I mean, I don’t know if I’m impressed with how brave this cat is, or if I should feel sorry for its lack of caution. In any case, if goes without saying that it’s very much used to hanging around near speeding trains… perhaps just a little too used, I might add. I just hope it doesn’t get run over, and we keep getting further impressive videos showcasing its remarkable coolness.

Your baby also likes entertainment! Here’s how you can take him along.

§ January 21st, 2009 § Filed under ideas § Tagged , § No Comments

If you have a baby and a dream of having an olympic gymnast child, I know something that will be helpful! You see, by using one of these baby slings, you’ll make sure your offspring gets enough flexibility that he’ll soar high through life’s most challenging landscapes. You might to watch out for the landings though, and possibly get a baby helmet to go with the sling.

Okay, stop it right there. In case you have the least shadow of doubt that I was joking right now, rest assured: I definitely was joking, right now. I mean, anyone knows this kind of moby wrap apparatus is not meant to sling babies around. Really, you should never ever sling your baby up in the air, even if you have high expectations of raising an olympic gymnast. There are far safer options that will allow to chase the aforementioned dream; and while you’re checking out such options, baby slings really provide you with a comfortable means of carrying around your infant.

See? The little rugrat looks perfectly at ease, now doesn’t she? I see so many people in the street so tired and word out from carrying their little love muffins around, that sometimes I feel like giving away some baby slings. And the funny thing about these straps is they’re actually based on traditional methods… so it’s not like it’s some kind of cutting edge technology. I wonder why more people don’t use these things.

Rejoice, oh fans of the wilderness survival tale that goes simply by the title “Lost”! As you know, you favorite series is about to enter its fifht season, and trailers for the new episodes have already started surfacing on the Internet. Ok, so this isn’t a 100% actual trailer (I really can’t bring myself to lie to you readers :-/), but it’s pretty much the next best thing. This video was put together by a cheering fan, using footage from the first four seasons of the hit show; it certainly brings about a bit of speculation concerning the creative direction for the new series, but all the while it’s a pretty fun to watch. So without further due, I bring you…

A nice average guy that goes out of his way to make charity!

§ January 21st, 2009 § Filed under society § Tagged , , , § No Comments

If you enjoy reading a good novel and helping charitable causes, I’m about to show you something that’s likely to get you excited. It’s called Nice Average Guy, and it’s a lovely true-to-life story about a common guy facing mid-life crisis. This charming narrative thrives upon the little sweet and sour moments that make life and unique experience, and the author displays a skillful ability to bring together a lively cast of characters that blend together in a lovely story which resonates deeply in the very nature of being human. If you enjoy reading smooth prose that speaks volumes about the experience of being alive, this is a book you’ll most likely enjoy reading.

Not only that, there’s other good reasons why this is a recommendable book. You see, besides making up for a lovely read, author Ned Mansour made a point of using his skills to help people in need: the totality of profits which are generated from selling this book (which is available from Amazon.com) will be donated to TrinityKids Hospice Care. So if you’re shopping around for an entertaining read and you’re always on the lookout for charitable causes you can support, this is definetily a book that will provide you with best of both worlds!

The Ravenous Time Eater: Strangest clock ever!

§ January 21st, 2009 § Filed under videos § Tagged , , § No Comments

Time is fleeting, and mankind keeps inventing new ways of illustrating its passage. This amazing time-tracking device was endorsed by Stephen Hawkings, and I’m quite confident to say it’s one of the strangest clocks in existence. It’s called the Chronophage, or “Time Eater”, and as you’ll understand from watching the video, this is quite a conceptual apparatus… and very freaky if you ask me. I would love to see it live, since it certainly looks like an ominous gadget! If anyone has seen it, I’d very much like to read some impressions.

Getting some IT training will help you get the most of computers!

§ January 18th, 2009 § Filed under ideas § Tagged , , , § No Comments

Today I was browsing along one of those new live.tv websites (the kind where teenagers turn on their webcams for allowing people peek into their lives a la big brother), and I must say I’m impressed. I happened to browse along in the middle of a conversation about computers, and I could barely understand half what was going on. I mean, these days, kids really know how to handle computers and most of the young ones really put my generation to shame, when it comes to IT training.

I’m sure this is something you might have noticed before, and in a way that’s the natural order of things: new generations naturally learn their way around the new technologies, while older generations are somewhat more impervious to learning new skills. Sure, you can use your computer for browsing the web and writing documents, but there’s a good chance that pretty much sums up your computer skills. Well, if you’re tired of being outsmarted by a bunch of teenagers when it comes to computers, some online IT training might be in order. I’m sure that will raise the entertainment value you can get from computers!

Get fresh-water: Fun and style with cultured pearls!

§ January 9th, 2009 § Filed under ideas § Tagged , , § No Comments

There’s something about women and jewelry, right? They just go along together like ketchup and fries. The problem about jewels though, is that they tend to be quite expensive; have you ever found yourself wishing you’d have more money to shower your wife or girlfriend with all the riches and luxury she deserves? I’m sure you did, so that’s why I’m telling you about a nice middle ground, where it concerns jewelry gifts: I’m talking about freshwater pearl jewelry, of course!

thpd007

Freshwater pearls are cultured pearls, which originate from man-made grafts to freshwater clams such as mussels. These pearls are not quite so rare as wild pearls, which means you can buy them for a reasonable price – and they look MUCH better than fake pearls. I mean, just look at this pearl necklace and pearl earring, I’m sure you’ll easily realize that’s some fine jewelry. And unlike most jewelry, the price won’t make your shrug in disappointment… I mean, those are some actual pearls that you can actually afford! How brilliant is that?

Everyday normal crew, it’s just come back to see you!

Years past his successful hop-rockin Intertnet gangsta slingin’ mundane humble beginnings, Jon LaJoie is back. If you haven’t watched the infamous “Everday Normal Kind of guy” rap parody, trust me… then you’re missing out on quite a juicy peace of entertainment. With his sharp lyrical witticisms, comedian laJoie keeps impressing millions of internet videos with his clever musical stunts. He usually operates in different musical styles, but it’s always a pleasure watching him return to the hip-hop landscapes. “Everyday Normal Crew” is a pretty much very darned okay piece of mundane entertainment, but you might as well hit the “Play” button down bellow:

Ramblings on the fine art of picking a dentist.

§ January 3rd, 2009 § Filed under ideas § Tagged , , , § No Comments

You know what’s really not entertainment – at least not where I stand from, not by a longshot? Going to the dentist. I swear, if there’s something in my life I regard as a necessary evil, it’s the mundane, yet potentially troublesome visits I have to occasionally make the see my dentist.

I don’t know what’s with my dentist trauma, maybe it’s a childhood thing. Actually, on second thought, I suspect my trauma derives from some less than commendable dentist professionals I’ve encountered in my youth, during my early forays into the world of dentistry.

To make a long story short, this is why I presently make a point of doing my research before I choose a new dentist. Yes, because now I CHOOSE my dental health care professionals, I don’t just stumble into their office like I used to. Besides, the cool thing is that most competent dentists nowadays seem to have invested themselves in the vast cyberspace landscapes.

For example, I’ve been hearing about these porcelain veneers Houston, and it sounds like a quality material. So, as I happen to need to get a tooth capped, I’m making sure I go as far as understanding the raw materials my dentist will be using. After all… you can never been too careful. Not when you’ve suffered trauma, baby.

Can you face your own inner truth?

§ January 3rd, 2009 § Filed under videos § Tagged , , , , , § No Comments

A lot of us go by living our own personal deceits, and the saddest thing about it is that once we succeed in fooling others, it doesn’t take long until we begin fooling ourselves. What if there was some kind of a magic mirror that would show us the truth about ourselves, the kind of truths we’re no longer able to see on our own? I think many people who be ominously scared of such a mirror, and in my opinion that is actually quite sad. If nothing else, because I really do believe the truth has the power to set us free from our sins; only once we recognize our faults do we have a chance of getting around them.

Are you a coupons freak? This will keep you entertained!

§ January 2nd, 2009 § Filed under business § Tagged , § No Comments

It’s just a sign of the day and age we live at – consummerism, that is. In the fast-paced contemporary reality of ours, buying things is problably one of the most widespread and generalist forms of entertainment. Granted, this is not the right time to waste away lots of money (with the global financial crisis and all that), but I’m going to tell you about something that might help cut down on your expenses, rather than your guilty pleasures.

This is something every intelligent shopper is already familar with: the amazing discount power of coupons. Yup, by looking around for the appropriate coupons before making online purchases, you’ll get so much more booty for so much less money… it will blow your mind away. A good example can be found in this page offering Christmas sales on computers, or maybe this one focusing Office Depot Coupons, Staples coupons, or VistaPrint coupons… and these are just some examples!

If you’re looking for a good souce for digital coupons, you simply must check out this website, since it’s one of the most comprehensive I’ve seen in a long time. Special discounts are available in a wide range of products, particularly where it’s concerned with office supplies. Highly recommended!

“Some people cause happiness wherever they go; others, whenever they go.” ~Oscar Wilde

Sometimes, people with the best intentions succeed in nothing but causing unwanted troubles. Sometimes, apparently bad things give birth to good fruits. Just goes to show that in a reality such as our own, we shouldn’t take anything at face value: it’s always best to evaluate the effect something has in its surroundings, rather than get obcessed about its intrinsic value. Because good or bad is most oftentimes a matter of perspective.
