Also, an event planner is not that expensive, so it’s always good to keep in touch with a good one in case one has to make a smashing party, Right?

Cover up those white walls: Here’s an idea!

§ February 22nd, 2009 § Filed under ideas § Tagged , , , § No Comments

I don’t know about you, but I really hate the sight of white walls. I long for the day when electronic paper will become accessible and widespread, so that a person can easily change the appearance of walls with the click of a button. Can you imagine how that will be amazing in several different ways? For one, you will no longer be required to stare at blank walls – unless you want to – and furthermore there will likely be these cool wall-size screensavers. Can you imagine a huge life-life aquarium in your living room wall, or maybe some exotic landsapes?

Oh well, I guess we still have to wait some time until that becomes a reality. But in the meanwhile there are some reasonable alternatives that allow covering up those white walls, such as canvas art, or decorative paintings. I’m usually not a big fan of this kind of thing, but I must admit there are some interesting concepts available here:

canvas art

Not bad, eh? This is the next best thing after hiring someone to paint a mural in your living room – which is also a good option, provided you can afford hiring a decent artists. Unfortunately, I can’t do such a thing, but I was browsing around this wall art website, and I found many interesting designs at a reasonable price. If you’ve been looking for something to cover those white walls, this might be your cue – so enjoy!

Want website? Make sure to get webhosting review first!

§ February 19th, 2009 § Filed under ideas § Tagged , , § No Comments

Getting a website is a great way of having fun with modern technologies, while reaching out to other people and expressing your opinions. However, running a website can also be a source of headaches, particularly if you didn’t sign up with a reliable and supportive webhost. As you may know, a webhost is a company that delivers the webspace from where you get to broadcast our website out to the world wide web; as such, there are literally thousands of webhosts available on the market, and they all promise they’re the best.

So if you’d like to get past redundancy and hollow marketing fanfare, here’s a good tip that will help you make the best web hosting choice to suit your needs: make some research. There are websites out there (such as the one I’ve just linked) that specialize in gathering web host reviews, in order to help people get perspective and make the best choice. If you’re looking for a good web host, you should always rely on customer reviews, rather than believing those sales pitches. Go ahead and have fun being a webmaster, but make sure you don’t get the rug pulled from under your feet.

Do you think the world will end in 2012?

§ February 15th, 2009 § Filed under ideas § Tagged , , , § No Comments

If you can’t see where I’m coming from with this kind of question, you’ve obviously never came across one of the many websites out there which claim in the year 2012 some kind of cosmic convergence will take place that will either make or break a new kind of world. Well, I usually approach this kind of prediction with much reserve (ever since the whole 2k thing turned out such a disappointment) but all the while I like to keep an open mind. If there’s gonna be change for the best, I’m all for that! However… according to this funny man, maybe we’ve just been having our imaginations toyed with:

Keeping perspective will assist your weight loss!

Ok, hold it right there. In the remote possibility you’re actually thinking about sending the people who made this video some money – don’t. That’s just a joke, and shame on you for not having noticed on your own. In any circumstance, the advice offered in the video is actually sound: if you want to lose those rolls, there are two sure shot ways of doing so: eating less and moving around more. You may say that’s not always easy, but come on… we both know you’re just fooling yourself waiting for a miracle solution.

Granted, there’s nothing wrong with subscribing with a good Weight Loss Plan, or even a strict Diet Plan… in fact, if you feel like doing so, just go ahead and check out these Weight Loss Pill Reviews. All that stuff will work wonders to achieving your best look…. IF and ONLY you succeed in keeping things in perspective. There’s no point in taking a lot of aspirins if you keep getting your feet wet, right? Similarly, there’s no point in taking a lot of diet pills, if you plan to keep over-eating and indulging your gluttony. If you’re really serious about losing weight, complement your chosen therapy with a lifestyle change… that’s the only way you’ll get a real chance of meeting your weight loss goals!

Good memories and good reasons to visit Miami!

§ February 14th, 2009 § Filed under ideas § Tagged , , § No Comments

WoW! Look what I found during my routine cyberspace excursions; man this show brings back some fond childhood memories! I remember when I was like 10 years old I was really into the action packed show “Miami Vice”, and I always wanted to visit Miami just to check out some of those places I used to see on TV. Curiously though, I’ve never really been there… but you know, while we’re living it’s never too late!

I was checking out some rates at Miami hotels, and it doesn’t seem too expensive, so maybe this summer I’ll finally get there. In case you’re wondering, there’s a lot to do in Miami, besides getting nostalgic about an old TV show. Let’s see… we’re got the mythical South Beach, Miami MetroZoo, the Seaquarium, Everglades, the Miami Museum of Science, Coral Castle, the Skylift…. and that’s just to name a few tourist attractions.

Everyone who knows about traveling know the real fun begins when you get past the regular touristic scenarios (although obviously I don’t mean to propose there’s something wrong with checking those out); I’m telling you, suddenly I feel very excited with the idea of spending a week or two in sunny Florida and going all out on Miami… minus the Vice, of course!

The world would be bleaker without product design!

§ February 14th, 2009 § Filed under society § Tagged , , § No Comments

Good news, everyone! Today I’m talking about something different… something that’s not too obviously entertaining, at least not until we put it in perspective. I’m about to discuss the wonders of product design development, and before you get yawning, just allow me to bomb you with a paraphernalia of examples alluding this subject: disposable razors, post-it notes, roomba vacuum cleaner, coca cola bottle, tea bags, video game consoles, electric cars… you see, product designers are professionals whose occupation is finding new ways of materializing innovative and useful concepts into products that improve our lifestyle. Have you ever considered that? Well, it’s true!

vc

The power of a new product design can be outstanding, and it can make or break a business. Do you suppose coca cola would be such a popular drink if it was marketed in a regular bottle? Do you imagine the Nintendo Wii would be such a hugely successful video game system if it hadn’t been designed in such a unique fashion? Think again! When it comes to entertainment – and even when it comes to daily routine – we, the consumers, crave for innovation… the kind that’s usually provided by product designers. It’s actually funny that we’re mostly not aware of such subtleties, but I think the modern world would be much bleaker without this trade.

Facing death is a great reminder that life is worth living!

§ February 13th, 2009 § Filed under ideas § Tagged , , , , § No Comments

Yeah, so you’re probably wondering: how in earth could something like death be even remotely entertaining? The answer is quite simple: have you noticed the amount of blockbuster hit movies that deal directly with death? Or the video games that revolve around killing random individuals and engaging countless massacres? We might as well face it: Our society is deeply obsessed with death, to the point that we keep reliving it on a daily basis through the mass media… and I’m not even going to start discussing the degree of death that’s expressed on the very news that we look forward to as a source of actual information on the contemporary workings on humanity.

Truth of the matter is that, provided we face death with a healthy perspective, it can actually become a therapheutic experience. I’m not going to go as far as suggest that you go out shopping for Urns or Caskets (although there’s definitely nothing wrong with that), but a great exercise can be thinking about the words you’d like to have engraved in your Grave Markers. It may sound like a strange thing to do, but when you think about it, it’s death that defines life, and it’s death that works as a daily reminder that life won’t last forever – and therefore as a reminder that we should enjoy living while we can!

CashGiving, can you think of something more entertaining?

We’re living rough times, with the surging and rampant economic crisis. There are many people who wish they could have some extra money, since their regular streams of profit keep getting thinner. Everyone can always use more money, for indulging our consumerist pleasures… unfortunately though, not all people know where to turn, to effectively bring about those additional dollars. There are some however, who have realized the possibilities of the Internet and affiliate marketing though programs such as Cash Gifting.

Pimple go Pop? Teenager go happy!

§ February 12th, 2009 § Filed under funny, ideas § Tagged , , § No Comments

Ah… the sweet and sour teenage years. On one hand, teenagers are lucky because they get to emancipate themselves and figure out who they want to be, without too many outside pressures to put them down (except those pesky parental units, that’s granted). On the other hand, teenagers are also renowned for their high levels of acne proficiency… so to speak. I barely remember what it feels like to get an acne outburst, but all the while that’s something that most teenagers still worry about.

With that in mind, I figured… why not take this chance to enlighten some of my younger readers in the fine, subtle arts of pimple popping? Well, actually – rule number one is that no popping at all should take place: that’s always a bad idea, and it will only make your problem get bigger and messier. What you need to do is get some decent acne products, including a good
acne moisturizer. The thing about acne is that it originates from natural teenage grease, so if you use your hands you will only make it worse. The key to an effective
acne treatment is keeping it extremely clean, and using products that actually work! If you want to know which are the best products, this website might help. Best of luck!

Canada might not be a bad place to life, after all!

§ February 12th, 2009 § Filed under ideas § Tagged , , § No Comments

Have you ever been faced with a question so simple that you simply can’t get yourself to find a reply? It happened to me this morning; in sequence with a complex rant that I’m not going to dissect for the sake of not twisting your mind, a friend of mine proposed this simple challenge: “Just name one no-nonsense reason why Canada is not a better place to live than the USA right now”. I mean, this guy is a born and raised American and he just comes forth with this bizarre reasoning, and you know what’s worse? After making a little research, I still can’t find a single actual no-nonsense reason why Canada would not be a great place to live in right now. In fact, I found this video that almost convinced me the opposite might be true:

I really should time out this investigation before I decide I should actually pack my bags and cross those borders, but I feel rather compelled to keep it up. Just for curiosity’s sake, I’ve been checking out this Toronto Business Directory, and so far so good. Next up I’m going to look into this Canadian Citizenship Test and also a thing or two about the Online G1 Test, and … maybe it would be a nice idea trying some traditional Canadian food, just for the sake of it? Heck, maybe planning a little vacation in Canada wouldn’t be such a bad idea after all…

Video Games are becoming America’s favorite entertainment.

§ February 6th, 2009 § Filed under ideas § Tagged , , § No Comments

I never cease to get amazed with the video game industry. I remember just a decade or two ago, video games were regarded as an inferior kind of entertainment, and not many people used to play. Well, nowadays this industry has become so big that it almost compared to the colossal movie industry. In fact, many modern video games are now sophisticated productions involving multi-faceted teams with dozens or even hundreds of people.Personally, I think this is a good thing – even though I also believe that some of the older games are sometimes more engaging than the graphical wonders that we’ve grown used to these days.

I guess this is a matter of personal preference, but all the while we should be happy there are so many entertaining games available! And if you enjoy keeping up with the latest video games news and reviews, or even picking up some game cheats to get you ahead of the game… this is where it’s at!  TVG is an increasingly popular resource for all things video game related, and if you’re tired of picking your news from the same old sources, maybe it’s about time you think about trying something new.

Looking for a bargain? This will get you entertained!

§ February 4th, 2009 § Filed under ideas § Tagged , , § No Comments

For many people sales represent the best buying opportunities. The best because you buy the same stuff at a much lower price than you’d be paying for it if you’d buy it in a regular season, in a regular store. But sales are neither confined to a season, neither to regular shops. Online you can find sale of any sort of products and services, either being promoted by regular shops, or web based deals.

The best sales are often found on the web, where you can get assistance from sales dedicated websites, making it much easier to find what you’re looking for, at the best price, and with minimum delay possible.

In websites like What’s On Sale you can find a wide variety of products, ranging from Furniture sales, to clothing sales, car sales, and many others, representing the best brands and biggest retailers, making sure that you’ll most probably will find precisely what you’re looking for.

These websites tend to be user friendly, having a simple structure and layout, minimizing the time spent on your search, which can be made using different categories, to best suit your needs. So next time you go shopping, why not look for the right place without leaving home? It might save you time and money – for free.

The strangely familiar case of Forrest Button!

§ February 1st, 2009 § Filed under movies § Tagged , , § No Comments

If you’ve watched the movie “The Strange Case of Benjamin Button”, there’s a good chance you found yourself caught up in a strange feeling of Deja Vu, right? This movie was written by Eric Roth, who also authored Forrest Gump, around 15 years ago… and apparently, the author decided it was about time to put a little spin on the good old tried and true formula that earned him an Oscar back in the day. Now, don’t get me wrong… I actually think Benjamin button is a good movie, and I really wouldn’t mind if it was an actual remake to Forrest Gump. But in truth, there’s no direct connection between both movies… except, perhaps the obvious:

On the internet… There’s hope for the balding!

§ February 1st, 2009 § Filed under ideas § Tagged , , § No Comments

This is something that most women can’t really understand, or even man who have luckily been blessed with good hair. But truth of the matter is that baldness can be a potentially traumatizing experience for anyone… and as you’re probably aware, there are lots of men suffering from this problem, myself included.

Well, I personally think it’s best to try and accept who we are – just the way we are- rather than obcessing about technicalities such as hair or lack thereof; but from personal experience, I know this isn’t always an easy thing to do. Besides, there are now a number of options and solutions for people suffering from baldness. There are treatments available ranging from putting on a simple hair restoration cream to getting an actual hair transplant, and if you’re worried about losing your hair, maybe it’s about time you set a course of action.

A friend of mine told me about this hair transplant forum, and from what I’ve gathered so far, it definitely looks like a good place for balding man to visit; you’ll find reports from other people experiencing the same problems, hair loss videos, and also videos showcasing the effect of hair transplant. If you’re having trouble coping with your imminnent or consummated baldness, visiting this website might turn out quite comforting!

Got T-Shirt? Get Custom! Here’s how.

§ February 1st, 2009 § Filed under ideas § Tagged , , § No Comments

Custom T-Shirts website has just been launched, and is ready to go. It’s an easy to use website, where you can easily find the kind of custom shirts you need; there are innumerous ready made neat templates, including categories like Animals & Nature, Sports, Music, Holiday, Funky, Love and many more. And they’re not just about T-Shirts – they can customize practically your entire wardrobe. Stuff like bags, shoes, gifts, buttons (!) and more, are ready to get your own brand. And there’s no need not to get creative. Why not use your own graphic creations to personalize what you wear on you?

These guys seem to have gone for some high tech printing equipment, so hopefully their prints will have just as good colors as those of any other regular brand. Plus, if something goes not so right, they apply a fair returning policy just so you don’t have to buy the ‘wrong’ T-Shirt.

Their deal aims to satisfy personal customizing requests, and also companies needs – if you own a business and want to boost its visibility and recognition among your community, you can easily have T-Shirts or other promotional material branded with your company’s name and logo – this is a common practice, and has certainly proved to be an efficient one, or not so many people would still be putting it to practice yet today. Custom T-Shirts certainly deserves appraisal for its layout and variety of options it presents.
