I don’t get it, maybe I’m doing something wrong. I’ve been trying to pick up some tan lately, but to almost no avail. I guess I always get bored just sitting in the sun for too long; maybe if I got some of those extra-comfortable pool chairs, it would get easier? I suppose I could spend more time outdoors and get some sun, maybe while browsing the Internet or even doing a little bit of work. Well, I feel a little silly for buying pool chairs without actually owning a pool, but so what? This year I decided I’d pick up a decent tan, and no one’s stopping me from my goal!
Hmm… maybe I’ll just get myself one of those kiddies rubber pools to wet my feet, and learn how to make a couple of cocktails to keep me entertained. Lol, what am I supposed to do anyway, just stand there in the sun thinking of nothing? I’m always afraid I’ll fall asleep and get major sunburns; besides I keep thinking I’ll get tan lines in my face from wearing sunglasses, but if I don’t wear them I keep squinting and frowning at the sun, it also gets annoying. I had never realized how getting a decent tan could be such a daunting task… but somehow I’ll persevere and tone down just nice!
According to many music lovers, analog music system – most notably vinyl, is still the best and most accurate way to hear a record. Well, I’m not going to argue with that, since I too am a romantic in that way; however I just found something interesting: the world’s smallest LP player. It doesn’t produce such a great sound and it’s dubbed “vinyl killer” because it does just that – wrecks your LP disc after a while… but I guess I don’t have to point out how cool it looks, right?
This weekend I feel like doing something different, so I decided I’ll pack some clothes and get into one of those Washington DC bus tours from America Limousine & Bus. The price is quite reasonable and the travel company looks alright, so I figured… why not give it a try? I’ve never been to the capital of our Nation, and when you think about it, Washington must be an exciting place! If nothing else, just because it was the cradle of our Democracy! And since I’m the kind of guy who values democracy (even though sometimes I’ve wondered just how democratic our federal government really is), I think I’m in for an amazing weekend!
I’ve been looking around for some touristic videos from Washington DC, and there’s actually some interesting pieces out there. The one I’ve embedded down there for example, it shows all the famous monuments you can check out while visiting that city. Well, as you can see, I’ll need to make haste if I plan to visit all these landmarks in a single weekend! I actually need to make a good plan, since it will be impossible to visit all of those places, and I hate to rush around all the time when I’m visiting a new city!
Just my kind of luck. This morning they delivered my brand new HDTV (finally!), and I was obviously excited to try it out… except they forget the appropriate cables for HDTV, so I guess I’ll have to wait until I finish work before I get to enjoy my new gadget. Well, there’ll be plenty of time for that, I guess… but I just can’t hold myself, in these situations – I invariably feel like a little kid who’s all too eager to play with a new toy. In fact, I’m having a hard time focusing on work, just thinking about my leisurely evening plans! And I still gotta pick up those cables, and I just hope there’ll be time for that – with rush hour traffic and all.
Let me tell you, it’s been a LONG time since I’ve been meaning to buy an HDTV, but I forced myself to wait some time until the prices got reasonable. Most people I know seem to think it’s not such an interesting thing… but all I can think of when I’m faced with such claims is “you people better go see your optometrist”. I mean, it’s just amazing how detailed these televisions can get! Sometimes I get absolutely mesmerized watching those endless HD demo loops in electric stores. High definition video is simply a beautiful thing to watch! And starting today, I’ll be doing that from the comfort of my own couch. Ah, how I wish this afternoon will go by swiftly!
There’s something inexplicably amazing about driving a car, isn’t there? The engine sounds, the picking of gears, and the amazing feeling of road going by and whistling wind… the whole driving experience is absolutely enthralling, and sometimes I get the feeling the vehicle is an extension of my own body. And this is when I feel like doing some driving crazy stunts, even though I oftentimes avoid actually doing so for the sake of security.
Yup, driving a car ban be a lot of fun, and if you’re a seasoned driver, there’s a good chance that you’ll occasionally feel like pulling some stunts. How many times have you felt like doing a parallel parking, just like in the video up there? I’ll bet it’s been more than a few times, and you probably just didn’t try it out because you were afraid to trash your car. Right?
I can totally relate with that feeling. If I was a rich man, I’d keep a fleet of old cars and set up some cheap business insurance, so I could drive around and practice my car stunts away, much to my hearts contentment. But, not being rich, that thought is somewhat impractical – sadly. I’ll just have to stick to watching these cool videos and dreaming away.
…. then think again! You might remember this video clip from last week, when the awesome President of the USA killed a fly that kept trying to distract him from the ongoing reasoning. Also, you may think this is all about swatting flies, but there’s much more to it. In killing the fly, Obama sent out a vital message to the enemies of the country: “now, we’ll try to reason with you, but if you keep nagging at us, you will be put down!” So if you think Obama is too bland, just pay attention to that moment before he killed that fly, and you’ll easily realize what he’s all about!
LOL. Now for a moment of honesty. Sometimes I feel there aren’t enough people reading my blogging rants (even though there’s usually more than a 100 daily visitors, that’s not enough to quench my thirst of traffic), so I get all kinds of crazy ideas to promote my website: such as sandwich boards, for example! So, if you’re ever out in the street and you see a loony man waving a bell in the air while wearing a sandwhich advertisement for this website, well… feel free to say hello, that’s probably me! It might sound like a dumb idea, but I’ve read those adverts can be really effective. Plus, trying it certainly won’t hurt!
If there’s someone I really admire in this world – that’s the guy who invented the post-it notes or those literature display holders. Why? Simply because he was intelligent and bold enough to come up with a universally useful concept and turn it into something practical, brandable and … wholesomely profitable, of course! I remember reading how insanely rich the guy who invented post-its became, and from that day on, I have always mused with the idea of devising people that will make people think “how have I lived without this all these years?”
When it comes to literature holders the same principle is at stake, since it’s essentially an inexpensive utensil that can make a specific task more comfortable and easier. For example, these literature holders are great for holding papers in place as you type on the computer, or otherwise when you need to retrieve certain information from the paper while keeping your hands free. I mean, it’s something so simple and also so efficient that I find it completely mind-blowing!
I still dream of the day when I’ll get around to inventing something as useful as the post-it note or the literature holder! Somehow, I have a notion that the best ideas are always right under our nose, waiting for us to notice them! Someday, dear readers… maybe some day I’ll think of something really nice.
I just found out about this intriguing concept that really feels like my cup of tea! You see, ever since I was a child I’ve been intrigued with other cultures, and I always wished I could get around to living in other countries; even during my college years, I hoped to study abroad india, but it turned out impractical and I ended up postponing. But this website I just found might just bridge the gap between my wishes and my reality.
You see, the concept of visiting other places doesn’t appeal much to me, because I feel as though one can’t really get to know a place that way. I much prefer the idea of living somewhere for a couple of months to a year, as to actually experience the foreign culture and get a chance to be immersed in it. This is why I’m deeply fascinated with this program called Carpe Diem Education.
The institution represented in this website provides a number of programs aimed at challenging students through travelling, community services and cultural exchange. In other words, people get a chance to study abroad and get immersed in a different culture, in exchange for their own efforts and skill. It’s all about giving and getting back, all the while on route for personal growth!
It goes without saying – how The Simpsons is one of the most interesting and long-running shows in recent history, at least as far as cartoons are concerned. With that in mind, it’s quite unlikely to take much explaining to get you acquainted with this yellow caricature for a modern american kind of family. However, I’ll tell you this: if the Simpsons is by definition a bizarre little show, the following video focuses on the top 10 surreal moments in the show’s run! Sounds intriguing? Just watch!!
Ah… those good old college days! Quite likely the best time in a guy’s life, yet probably the time in a guy’s life that he’s prone to remember the least. That’s just too bad, isn’t it? Well, it doesn’t have to be! Sometimes remembering is living, and this is why diploma frames were invented in the first place, right?
I mean, if it wasn’t for my diploma standing proudly in my office, I’d barely realize I’ve already finished my high education (so to speak). Okay, so maybe I’m going a little over the edge here, but to put it simply, I’m not a big fan of the modern standard for learning institutions. And judging from what I’ve seen in my day, they’re also not a big fan of me… but well, that’s a different story, one that would probably suffice to fill a couple of books.
Okay, for one thing: I’m not sorry I have an actual university diploma frame with an actual diploma from an actual university inside. And I’m not sorry I went to college, either that I did waste of the time I spent there on typical young foolishness. Technicalities aside, my time in college was an important stage in my personal development, and I’ve much to be thankful for. That’s what I try to keep in mind when I find myself staring at the diploma, anyway. I’m just lucky that’s such a shiny and pretty frame, since occasionally it’s good enough to distract me from the little piece of paper inside.
Keeping track of time is very much a requirement in our fast-paced modern society, right? And when you think about it, there’s plenty of time-tracking to choose from, in between Men’s watches, Women’s Watches, casio watches… all kinds of watches. But if you ask me, my personal favorite are wholesale watches. Why? Well, that’s actually pretty simple: looking for wholesale priced watches allows getting top quality for low, low prices. It’s very much commmon sense if you think about it; now, the trick is actually figuring out where to buy top brand watches at major discounts. Well, fortunately that’s something that can be easily achieved by making a little Internet research.
I’ve been looking for a new wristwatch myself, and I prefer getting a good brand, since I’d like it to be reliable and also quite resistant. The problem is that it usually gets too expensive to buy a single watch that way. So, I’ve been talking with some friends and looking around for a website that sells watches on bulk, hoping that some arrangement could be made to benefit all parties. And judging from the amazing prices in the website I linked up there, I think I’ve found just what I was looking for. If you’re curious make sure to take a look!
I dunno why so many people are scared silly of dinossaurs! I mean, they’re obviously such friendly creatures. Granted, they look a little bit and scary, but come on good people! It’s about time we start looking beyond apparences, right? I say it’s about time we try to see the good in everything… even dinossaurs.
I dunno about yourself, but I’m really not a big fan of fleas. And even though I think it’s fascinating there are people who can train fleas to perform little stunts, I have no desire to do such thing, myself. So when it comes to keeping my pets scratch-free, a favored option is usually to get them some flea control pills. It generally works better than those smelly powders, and it’s good enough to keep fleas away for a good while. So unless you’re planning to start your own flea circus, it may be a good idea to get some medicine!
Today is a lovely summery kind of day, so I figured it would be nice to make some musical suggestions to cheer up your mood even further. With that in mind, I’ve selected this little tune by Louie Austen, who many readers will recognize as a Sinatra of sorts. Well – truth of the matter is, this Austrian vocalist and entertainer has an extensive career and merit of its own; also I think you’ll agree his study of the ratpack is quite consistent and pleasant. Comparissons aside, this is a warm melodic tune coupled along with a colorful video – in other words perfect for a lazy summer day. There’s a chance you’ll find the lyrics somewhat melancholic, but I guess that’s a matter of perspective! Well, just listen up and draw your own conclusions:
Okay, so all thieves are dumb, I’ll give you that. I mean, the whole stealing thing they usually do? That’s just stupid if you ask me. Called me old-fashioned if you will, but there’s nothing like working for the daily bread. Stolen bread is unlikely to taste as good. So it’s granted, we concur that thievery is stupidity, but as you’re about to see… some burglars are particularly moronic. This one here, I’m positive he’s running for president of thieving idiocy:
If you’ve been hoping to stumble across a great idea for Cheap Holidays Abroad, rejoice! I think I know just what you need. When it comes to inexpensive international vacations, the place where it’s at right now is none other than Turkey! This warm exotic country offers many interesting sights and traditions, along with great sunny weather. The other day a friend of mine kept praising the vacations he did last year in Turkey, so I made a little research, and well… it seems he wasn’t exaggerating after all. The prices are very inviting, and the country itself… well, that’s something you just have to see:
Amazing, just amazing. I mean, take a look at this CGI video from the upcoming videogame “Assassin’s Creed II”; notice the pacing, the interplay of lights and shadows, and the subtle characterization. In my opinion, this is a much more interesting video (from a cinematic perspective) than much of the actual films that play in movie theathers. This kind of production really makes me wonder, if we’re headed towards a future where actors get replaced with 3D models. Granted, actors will always come in handy to build such models, but working in 3D apparently gives director enough room to materialize their creative visions with crystal clarity. Oh by the way, if you’re curious to see some actual gameplay footage, here you go:
Who wouldn’t like to get whiter teeth? That’s obviously all the rage lately, and all the movie stars are doing it (although arguably some of those tend to over do, and the result is oftentimes just too white for comfort). I received brochures from this Atlanta cosmetic dentistry on the mail today, including a little whiteness chart. And I should say… I really had no idea my teeth were almost yellow! It’s actually embarrassing, but not really much of a surprise considering all the cigarettes and coffee I usually take. Regardless, I had no idea I feel so low on the white chart, and now I’m thinking maybe it’s time to do something about it.
With that in mind, I was looking around the Internet for more information – including alternative therapies, whitening tips and such. But after browsing around for one hour or so, I think the only fast and reliably procedure simply involves getting help from a cosmetic dentist. And well, that’s probably what I’m going to do, but still I thought it might be a good idea to write a post on this issue, and maybe one of you readers will feel like sharing his / hers personal experiences on the matter… maybe put forth some hints… anyone?
There’s much to gain from thinking out of the box! Here’s a good example : http://www.woodoutdoorfurnace.net/. So, at this point you might be going… “what sense does it make to think about purchasing a furnace when the summer is just around the corner?” Granted, no one needs a furnace in the hot summer (not unless it doubles as barbecue) – but just read me through and it will all make good sense.
Think about it, for a second: when is the best time to buy winter’s clothes? The summer, of course! That’s because you’ll get access to off-season prices, which sometimes can get really, really low. Just as long as you don’t make a point out of getting the latest fashion pieces, now is the best time to buy new clothes for the NEXT season. Likewise, the same principle applies with furnaces (or just about any item that people usually buy when the winter approaches): right now – is the best time to buy a furnace, because you’ll get access to amazing off-season prices.
Come on good readers, do I really have to spell it out for you? Just take a look a the website I linked up there (which belongs to one of the leading companies operating in this industry), check out those off-season prices, and everything should fall into place!
If you’re a person who travels a lot – and who frequently needs to find a place to sleep out of town, this probably doesn’t come as much of a surprise: If you want to go for adventure and novelty, just book a room anywhere; but it you want to go for familiarity and comfort… book at Four Seasons Hotels. There’s a reason this chain of hotels has grown so successful in the past few decades, and that’s essentially because they provide quite a highly pleasurable, consistently satisfying experience for a reasonable price! Granted, Four Seasons is not a cheap hotel, but all the while I think it’s best described as “affordable luxury”!
So, you’re a fan of the Four Seasons hotels? So am I. But did you know you can get Exclusive Complimentary Perks
if you make your reservations online trough whatahotel.com? This is because that website is owned by Lorraine Travel, a big multi-national travel agency. Granted, staying in a four seasons can isn’t a cheap experience… but taking advantage of this booking website, you get access to those exclusive travel-related perks, which definitely make the overall price more enticing! In other words… for the same price, you get a little something extra, with all the comfort you’ve come to expect from a Four Seasons hotel! Not bad, eh?
Maybe this isn’t something that comes as a surprise to the perceptive readers, but truth of the matter is there’s quite a fine line between amazing skill and outright luck. This is noticeable in many areas of life, but remarkably in sports; how many times have you watched a player make an unbelievable pass or score, which left you wondering how such thing was possible? In fact, oftentimes the very players who achieve such 1-in-a-million shots seem to get a little confused with their skill… or luck! Like this:
I’m a big fan of anything that bridges a gap, or draws together the best from worlds seemingly incompatible. Generally speaking I tend to get excited, when I learn about something that allows people to make old things in new ways. Let’s consider weight loss, for example. I mean… at any given point in our lives, one is prone to find himself thinking about doing a Diet program, either with the purpose of improving health, or simply as means to keep our sedentary lifestyles from taking the toll upon our silhouettes. Well, usually a diet program revolves around two basic cornerstones: eating better and getting more exercise. Agreed?
No news so far: that’s just the normal way of things, that’s what everyone usually does. Conversely, I much prefer thinking out of the box, so when I hear about something such as a Cookie diet, well… you can bet I’ll at very least get curious. I mean, how could one possibly go wrong with this combination? Diet and Cookies, man? Granted, I don’t expect to lose a lot of weight just from eating cookies (that would be outright moronic), but if there are cookies that might work as a health supplement and enhance the benefits I get from my exercise sessions… well, I don’t know about you – but myself… I’ll certainly want to try out these diet cookies!
Today I’m happy, because I was reminded of one of the things I like best about the summer! You see, just a few hours ago I was having trouble figuring out what I wanted to cook for lunch. Not there was a shortage of ingredients in the pantry – much the other way around, but simply that I was stressed from a busy morning and I really didn’t know what I felt like having. Well thankfully, the spirit of joyful simplicity came over me, along with the best kind of idea: the simplest kind.
Simply put, I picked up assorted meats from the freezer, and I decided to put on a barbecue! It was the best idea ever, I tell you. I just to tossed together a salad as a side-dish, and It very much sufficed in getting all the family doing a good deal of finger lickin’ goodness. It’s not that I’m THAT a good cook, I’ll admit. Truth of the matter is that everyone loves a good barbecue, and people like me generally enjoy to put together a great party.
I’m so excited and full right now that I feel like indulging myself. So you just check out the cal flame outdoor kitchens appliances I’m shopping around! I dunno if it was the couple of beers I’ve had with the barbecue, but I’m really feeling like going all out and getting myself a fire magic bbq island. I mean, it’s not exactly cheap but it’s definitely affordable, and just by thinking of all the fun that’ll be awarded by that thing. Man, I really think I’ll give myself the go-ahead, on this one! I’m just calling customer support here, and nobody try to stop me.
I don’t know about you, but I enjoy listening to all kinds of music from all across the globe. It’s all a matter of feeling, and sometimes I find musics from certain regions are better in evoking certain moods. For example, when you feel a kind of longing and you miss something / someone you used to like which is now no longer available, I think you’ll probably agree this Project, known as Idan Raichel, strikes just the right chord. Just watch!
