It’s all about numbers and I like it! Someone up for Bingo?

§ August 27th, 2009 § Filed under ideas § Tagged , , , , , § No Comments

Thank god they invented the Internet! You see, lately I’ve been looking for a simple and mindless game to keep me distracted, and I ended up settling for bingo. I used to dislike this game for being so straightforward and un-strategic, but recently I happened to get into it and I kind of liked it. And it turns out it’s actually a fun way to spend some time, so I started considering the chance of going out to an actual Bingo night, rather than just playing from the Internet. Well, that was until I came across the following video:

After watching this, I think I’ll settle for playing my bingo on the Internet, from the comfort of my own home! I have some friends who have also been getting adepts to those bingo sites, and soon enough we may start getting together for some live-action in-house Bingo. In the meanwhile, I think I’ll just stick to those free bingo websites, thank you very much. There’s something quite soothing about keeping and eye on those Bingo cards and hoping for the right numbers to come by. And it actually gets thrilling when you’re about to succeed filling up a card! Oh my, does this mean that I’m getting old, this sudden enjoyment of Bingo? Will I ever become one of those people in the video up there?

There’s something about girls with big tattoos that just drives me crazy!

§ August 25th, 2009 § Filed under videos § Tagged , , § No Comments

Wow, talk about sexy! It’s also kind of funny when I think about it. You see, to be honest I never thought about getting myself a tattoo (and I still don’t); but all the while, I was always quite fascinated by girls with tattoos… and I mean really big tattoos like the one in this video. In fact, every once in a while I enjoy hanging around a tattoo chat and talking with women who also love tattoos. Usually they make fun of me for not having a tattoo of my own – despite being a self-proclaimed tattoo lover, but hey… just as long as I get to watch those pretty pictures of theirs on webcam I’m happy all the same!

The Amazing Lego-Like 8 bit trip!

§ August 25th, 2009 § Filed under funny, videos § Tagged , , § No Comments

Wow! I’ve seen many interesting stop-motion videos back in my day… but this one here is absolutely cutting edge! They’ve used some rather interesting techniques in making this; also it certainly doesn’t hurt that it’s a homage of sorts to the kind of 8-bit videogames I used to play when I was younger. If you’re a fan of Lego bricks, old school video-games and / or stop motion animation, the following video will definitely rock your socks! So watch out:

The grass is greener somewhere in beatiful Rome!

§ August 25th, 2009 § Filed under ideas, society § Tagged , , § No Comments

The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence, right? Well, in this case it might be more appropriate to say “the grass is always greener on the other side of the Atlantic”; don’t take it the wrong way, though – I’m a big fan of America and I absolutely love it on this side of the Atlantic. Still, I cannot help but feeling a strange lure calling out from Europe. But I guess that’s just my sense of the unknown; I usually chat with some European buddies, and they seem as fascinated with America as I’m personally fascinated with Europe.

If I could just pack up and take off for some European vacations, my favored destination would be Rome, Italy. Just watch this video and you’ll easily understand why! There are just so many interesting rome events and sights worth seeing, it’s mind-blowing! Also, when it comes to rome italy accommodation there are all kinds of picturesque rome italy hotels in a wide variety of price ranges. I’ve been doing my math here, and maybe it’s not unreasonable to plan some vacations in Rome… however I’ll probably wait until the Dollar gets stronger because right now Euro currency is too much of a badass – it probably gets sore for tourists. Oh, if only I was rich! I’d gladly spend a month or three hanging around Italy!

If you’re a Gothic loner, here’s something that might brighten your world!

emo person...

Have you ever noticed how the very modern Emo movement is actually quite similar to the Gothic movement from a few years back? I cannot help but wonder if the hard-core Gothics from yesteryear are feeling lonely and outdated. If so, I’ll boldly recommend this gothic chat as a way to make acquaintance with kindred souls with whom they can swoon in unison. Okay, so maybe I’m coming across a little prejudicious here – don’t take me wrong: I just think some of those people are a little bit too depressive, and that’s too bad. If you ask me that’s just loneliness, so once again… try and find some nice people who can relate with, alright? That’ll cheer you up for sure!

You can also get custom trading pins with your favorite gothic signs.

.... and Gothic person. Can you spot a common theme going on, here?

Such Inglorious Basterds! And I can’t wait to watch them!

§ August 23rd, 2009 § Filed under movies § Tagged , , , § No Comments

I’m a big fan of Quentin Tarantino, and today I was caught by surprise when I noticed his newest flick is already up and running! Yeah sometimes I just snooze as life goes by, but anyway… it’s a GREAT thing the movie is already out there! I’m SO going to watch it this afternoon, and I’m quite excited about it – there’s a solid 99.9% chance it’s going to be awesome, judging from the trailer. So in case you’ve been distracted too, here’s a trailer for… those INGLORIOUS BASTERDS.

Do you know what’s so great about platform beds?

§ August 23rd, 2009 § Filed under ideas § Tagged , , , , § No Comments

I don’t mean to come across as a lazy person (I enjoy thinking I’m only moderately lazy), but I should say one of my favorite things to do is hanging around in bed… especially when I’m well accompanied! In fact, I’ve been meaning to get one of those contemporary platform beds, because they look pretty cool, and most notably because they’re not so rough around the edges… if you catch my drift. I’m really tired of bumping into the corners of the bed all the time! It can get a little sore and it kind of breaks off the mood; with that in mind I’m really taking a stand here, so I can keep lying down more comfortably. You gotta be able to set up a cozy platform from where you can seize life’s good pleasures, dear reader… they all sure go by in the blink of an eye.

Do you believe in magic? Consider this!

§ August 22nd, 2009 § Filed under movies § Tagged , , § No Comments

How about yourself, dear reader? Do you believe in actual magic, or do you think it’s all about tricks and deceptions? Are you a logical person or a romantic? In my opinion, there are some questions which are best left not answered, since they evoke a higher feeling of grandeur to life… and in my opinion that’s the real magic. Now, for your entertainment, I present you with this amazing video that will hopefully assist your reflection on the subject matter.

The outrageous kamikaze driver: I wonder about his van insurance rates.

§ August 21st, 2009 § Filed under ideas, movies § Tagged , , § No Comments

Just a thought, buddy: get yourself a decent van insurance, will you? And if you plan to keep pulling out those kinds of stunts, you might as well get some life insurance while you’re at it! I really don’t understand what’s wrong with some people, risking their lives and vehicles like that. Sometimes I wonder if that’s bravado or just plain old stupidity. Granted, it’s an impressive move (I’m not even sure how that’s even possible), but all the while it’s just too pointlessly risky. Why would anyone take the chance of flipping their van, just to show off? Either it’s not their van, or they simply don’t care.

Lol.. okay, so I was going into cryptic mode just now. So what if that person is risking his own life? That’s just his problem, right? Well, I cannot help but wonder how much practice it must have taken before he learned how to pull off that trick… and how many cars and vans got flipped around and wrecked in the process. I’m betting that driver is subject to outrageous insurance rates, from being regarded as a “kamikaze” type of driver. Way to go, buddy! I hope the kamikaze insurance rate suits you just well! Hmpf, what am I talking about, he’s probably just a stunt driver or something like that.

Synchronicity, canon toner cartridges, and the awesome plan of making wall-sized posters!

§ August 21st, 2009 § Filed under ideas § Tagged , , § No Comments

Are you familiar with the term synchronicity, dearest reader? Such as, when events unfold in such a way that makes you wonder it was just meant to happen? Well, earlier today a friend was telling me about this company called GMSupplies that’s selling canon toner cartridges at discounted prices, and I didn’t really pay much attention, since I haven’t been using my printer much lately. The thing is that… this very afternoon, I got fixated to the idea of decorating my home with huge posters, with natural scenes and such (I think a huge tree covering one of my bedroom walls will look absolutely amazing).

Well, after doing a bit of research to consider the most practical (and least expensive) way to print out a wall-sized picture, I realized the best way to go about it would be by printing out mosaic-like pieces from my own printer using a free software I found, and just putting the pieces together on the wall. So naturally, I’ll need to get at least one extra toner, as to make sure I don’t get dry half-way through. And yes, you’ve probably figured it out by now: using the website I mentioned before, it will come out really cheap to make those enormous posters. In fact, I think I’m ordering an extra toner just in case, so… hooray for synchronicity!

The legendary off-season halloween party? You gotta see to believe!

§ August 21st, 2009 § Filed under ideas § Tagged , , , § No Comments

So, what does it take to make a perfect party? I’m thinking about rounding up all of my close friends and getting down for some major end-of-summer kind of action, this weekend… and I could really use some ideas. You see, I’d very much enjoy to put together a party of the legendary kind, one of those parties that people talk about for years. However, I suppose that’s easier said than done: after standing around scratching my head for an hour or so, I decided to look up some Internet videos that might be helpful. Well, the best I could find was this thing here, and I would boldly say those guys are nearly as clueless as myself:

Well anyway, I’ve been making some calls trying to get some really good ideas, and something came up that might be interesting: an off-season Halloween party, with all kinds of halloween treats and activities. Also, it would be a surprise thing: I wouldn’t tell people to get a costume beforehand; that would be just dumb. I’m thinking about just rounding up a bunch of silly garments and all kinds of crazy accessories and piling them up in the living room, right next to the liquor. Then, just as all the guests start getting boozed up just right, I’d proclaim we would actually be having an off-season Halloween party, and ask everyone to just improvise a costume using all that stuff laying around.

Also, I’m thinking about looking up a bunch of Halloween drinking games just to keep things fun, and when everyone is getting hyped up, the real fun begins: outdoor barbecue! While the barbecue is going on, I’d give a bag of treats to each guest, and invite them to go out and lure outsiders to the party. I’m guessing at this point everyone will be sufficiently inebriated to really get sociable and help draw a major crowd. I’m telling you dear reader, it’s going to be a thing of legend! How does that sound?

The day when teenagers exhibited a scary fashion sense.

§ August 19th, 2009 § Filed under funny § Tagged , § No Comments

There’s a fine line between fashion and insanity, and some people seem all to eager to cross it. Just now I was riding the subway on my way home from the shopping mall,  and my eyes kept fixating on two teenage girls that were sitting next to me. It may sound awkward, but I just couldn’t help staring at their horrible wigs – and I mean horrible as in unrealistic, plastic Halloween-like wigs… from a website that does indeed specialize in Halloween costume wigs.

How do I know this? Quite simple, dear reader! Those silly girls just kept bragging about the cool website they’d found, and how they were so certain they would “for sure” set up a new urban trend. Oh, the horror. Oh, the humanity. I almost felt like intruding their horrid conversation and asking if they would like some halloween hats to go along with their ugly wigs. And why not wear a fake rubber mole, while they were at it? Now that would make a hot new trend, for sure.

I’m telling you, dear reader… when you realize American teenagers engage this kind of sordid reasoning, with their major aspiration being the transmutation of plain Halloween accessories into full-blown fashion statements; well, that’s when you realize there’s something very wrong with our society. I’m just wondering how those girls will dress up next Halloween. Maybe they will try looking like regular people, for a change? Maybe comb their hair and steam press their rugged shirts and skirts? Nah… that’s probably too bold for them!

Debt Consolidation: Exit point from credit card hell?

§ August 19th, 2009 § Filed under business, ideas § No Comments

Do you know why they invented bags? I mean any kind of bag, purse or even box? It’s simple: people were tired of carrying around a bunch of scattered objects in their hands, and someone figured it would be easier to get by with they’d come up with something that could be used for that effect. There’s really not much room for argument here, right? Can you imagine how women (of all people) could possibly carry all their usual paraphernalia without using a purse? That sounds hardly possible, in my opinion – and by no means do I intend to get into a sexist reasoning here. My point is altogether a different one, although the example I just mentioned might be illustrative enough.

You see… it just occurred to me that debt consolidation is actually very similar to a purse or container. And sadly, it’s the kind of modern age container that more and more people have been forced to adopt. Well, it’s no surprise that most Americans are currently caught up beneath a stack of debts. The thing is, dealing with different kinds of debts can be notoriously daunting, since those random bills will tend to catch you off guard. Well, to this effect, debt consolidation can be quite useful: all your debts get placed in the same “box” and you get to be able to focus in a single bill. Not only that, the combined interest rates usually bring about lower monthly payments, so… if you’re suffering from credit card woes, this is something you might definitely want to consider doing: get yourself a box to help you carry your debts with less effort!

Little pig, little pig, get my playlist groovin’!

§ August 17th, 2009 § Filed under ideas § Tagged , , § No Comments

Here’s a cool little gadget you might not be familiar with: ladies and gentlemen, I bring to you the ipig. This cute little piglet is a full-blown iPod docking station, which supports most generations in the iPod / iPhone family; also, it’s compatible with several other music devices, from old school discmans to new age SD cards. Using this funky little device, you can recharge your portable music devices or just use the built-in speakers to get the neighborhood rockin’ to your playlist. A friend of mine has one of these and the sound quality is actually surprisingly good! And get this: the volume control is accessed through the piggie’s ears! Really nice! I’m thinking about getting one for myself, but I can’t make up my mind regarding the color… there’s a whole palette to choose from. Although I must admit the default pink actually looks pretty good!
