It’s the age of information! Never mind your floppies, CDs and DVDs.

§ November 30th, 2009 § Filed under business, ideas § Tagged , § No Comments

Early this morning I saw something I hadn’t seen in a long while. For a moment there I almost thought I’d travelled back to the XX century, when I saw a girl my age in a public computer, using – of all things – a Floppy Disk! Can you believe it? I don’t think my computer even has a Floppy Disk drive! I had no idea people were still using those things, in this day and age. Well, in my opinion even CDs and DVD are severely outdated as a means of data transportation. I prefer using pen drives, but even those aren’t completely reliable. Why? Simply because I keep forgetting them everywhere, and losing my valuable information.

As far as I can see, the single best way to keep my files ready for access regardless of where I’m at is using a good reliable Online Backup- If you think about it, there aren’t many places nowadays where you can’t get Internet access nowadays… especially in urban areas. So uploading your personal files in a online storage service is the best way to make sure you won’t lose them OR forget about them. That’s pretty much how we roll, in this century – I earnestly recommend that you get up to speed! ;)

If you don’t want worries, just get insured!

§ November 30th, 2009 § Filed under ideas § Tagged § No Comments

This is a wonderful world we’re living in – but it’s also a highly unpredictable living. If you want to keep your peace of mind, you need to either not hold on to your material belongings, or find a way to keep them safe. And since there’s no fail-safe way of keeping an object or property safe, that’s why they came up with insurance agencies, right? For anyone who wants to keep his possessions secured, signing up with insurance is the way to go. Of course, there are several insurance companies to choose from – both online and offline – so how do you know which is the best option?

There are two ways of knowing, and they both involve getting to know the available options. There’s the hard way, that’s through extensive research, trial and error. And there’s the easy way, that’s through an insurance comparison / review website. If you don’t know one such website, you might want to check out this insurance leads; hope that helps. Now go ahead and get insured, and most importantly, get some peace of mind! I mean, a person can’t be happy if they’re always worrying what might happen, right? The only way not to worry is to get insured!

Want natural looking wedding photos? Just rent a Photo Booth!

§ November 21st, 2009 § Filed under ideas § Tagged , , , , § No Comments

It’s all in the name of having fun! Do you know what the latest trend is, when it comes to hipster fashionable parties an events? Photo Booths! Indeed, I was also very much surprised when I first learned about this trend, but it actually makes good sense when you think about it. Also, if you think this is some kind of local fad, think again. I’ve already found a website renting out Photo Booths Denver and another Dallas and Fort Worth Photo Booth. Quite likely, these companies are now operating all across the country, and I’ve gotta hand it to them for coming up with such an ingenious business model.

Yes, I know… you’re probably wondering “why would someone rent a photo booth, when they can just hire a proper photographer”? Well, that’s just the thing: you can do both! A photographer will do his role of capturing nice photographs and document the event. But a photo booth will do its job of making people act crazy! You know how it goes… there’s something about the privacy in a photo booth that makes people get funkier than they ever would in front of a real photographer. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, I found this photo booth wedding video that does a nice demonstration of the principle. Enjoy!

I’m watching U2 live show… and I recommend that U2!

There are some bands which boldly defy all kinds of conventions and attempts at description. There are bands which are truly timeless and immemorial. Now, the trouble is that… most of such bands are already expired. I guess the old idea of the genuine rock star as a reckless, self destructive creature still holds true in most occasions. That’s a little depressing, but I guess it’s just how they roll. One of the single great exceptions I can think to this principle is that outstanding Irish icon, U2! Those guys are certainly live and kickin’, and apparently quite healthy for their age. Most impressively, they’re still together and putting out decent records after all these years. And I think it goes without argument they have an amazing roster of musical hits. Here’s one of my favorites:

You might not even like their music, but you’ve gotta hand it to these guys. They’re a fine example of a powerful band which has really stood the test of time; and they really know how to put on a show! I’m not some kind of hard-core U2 fan or anything, but all the while I feel my existence wouldn’t be complete without watching one of their concerts. When it comes to production values, they’re really tops… and besides – like I said before – there really aren’t too many big bangs whose members are both a) alive b) together and c) still performing. That said, I’m just about get myself some U2 Tickets for their next show! I mean, they really aren’t getting younger, and I’ve been putting off watching one of their concerts for a long time. But I’m telling you, dear reader… 2009 is the year when I finally watch U2 live.

If you’re out for trouble, make sure you have a good lawyer!

§ November 21st, 2009 § Filed under ideas § Tagged , , § No Comments

Knowing how to talk is part of being a good lawyer, but let’s face it: some lawyers are all talk! If you don’t see where I’m coming from, just remember those classical lawyer advertisements that we grew up watching:

Is that the kind of lawyer you want to get to defend your cause? Heh, eh guess not. If you’re looking for a lawyer that will keep you out from trouble, you better check for a reputable office. Such as this Los Angeles DUI Defense Blog; when you’re dealing with someone who’s best at what he does, you just can’t go wrong! Now, don’t go using the fact that you have a great lawyer as an excuse to engage misdemeanors, alright?

Help! I need vacations before I can get some work done!

§ November 17th, 2009 § Filed under business, ideas § Tagged , , § No Comments

Did you ever get the feeling that you need some vacations if you want to get something done in work? Actually, I’m not just talking about the standard relaxation / battery recharging drill. You see, the thing about working from home is that sometimes it’s not easy to get things done without being distracted in a way or the other. This situation has grown to such a degree in my case, that sometimes I feel like signing up for some vacation rentals and go someplace where I don’t know anyone, so I can catch up on work without getting distracted.

There are places in the USA where you can get a decent vacations pad for a reasonable price. Some examples that come to mind are these Lake Harmony Vacation Rental and Princeville Hawaii Vacation Rental. I suppose the thought of renting a vacations home to catch up on business may sound oxymoronic, but trust me… if you ever start working from home, you’ll eventually realize what I’m talking about! Especially if you have lots of friends you like.

§ November 10th, 2009 § Filed under society § Tagged , , § No Comments

There are all kinds of people in this world, and that’s definitely a good thing! There’s people who hate jewelry, there’s people who prefer discreet jewelry, and then… there’s people who settle for nothing short of BLING! Myself, it’s a matter of the mood I happen to be in, but recently I’ve been drawn towards the whole hip hop jewelry thing, I must admit. Some of this jewelry is perhaps too far out for “regular” people, but there are some pieces that look really amazing and catchy! Take a look at this website, you might enjoy it.

Have you ever been to hollywood? Well, I haven’t – I must confess. And all the while, I don’t think the life of a modern day American can ever be complete without visiting the mecca of movies, and taking the full package while doing so: checking up the Hollywood hills up close, taking a stroll through the walk of fame, and of course meeting a few celebrities up close… or at least getting to know one of the several celebrities look-alikes that are so popular nowadays. Yes indeed, there’s much to see in the land of stars, and if you’ve never been there once, maybe it’s about time you think of doing so!
