Summer fan sales and my worries of a scorching summer.

§ June 28th, 2010 § Filed under ideas § No Comments

Ohh boy, I guess it’s officially that time of the year again. You know, when temperatures soar and our homes seem to suddenly turn into a giant oven. I don’t know about you, but in the past few years I’ve noticed each Summer seems to be considerably more scorching than the last one. And since the last summer was pretty much unbearably scorching, it follow naturally I will quite probably roast in my underwear, this time around. Such a lovely thought, isnt’ that? In all truth, not really! That’s why I’ve decided I’m taking action while there is time and look up a good summer fan sale.

What? I’m not meaning to come across like some kind of cheapskate; but when I spot a chance of saving money, I usually take it. Especially if I can simultaneously save money and get the product I want. So in this case, if I can get a good summer fan at discounted price, that’s for the better! I can actually get two fans, just in case one breaks down… or just in case 2010 Summer does turn out to be quite literally an earthly taste of boiling in hell. Don’t take me wrong… I really love the summer, it’s my favorite of all four seasons… but I just can’t take the heat when it gets out of control like it’s been getting lately!

Dirt bike racing, my latest specator’s passion!

§ June 28th, 2010 § Filed under Uncategorized § No Comments

Check out my new hobby, dear reader: Dirt Bike Racing! Oh, needless to say, it’s not a practicing hobby… more like a watching hobby. You know, I’m all for watching other people rip themselves apart on top of a bike if that’s what they like… but reasonably speaking, I don’t think I would ever be able to actually ride on one of those bikes. I’m not too good with a regular bike in a straighforward path, so trying some of these stunts would more than likely be suicidal. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, let’s get some intermission:

So… do you catch my meaning, now? As you can see, dirt bike racing is a pretty exciting sports to watch. But as far as I’m concerned, the very thought of practicing this sport really puts me out of my comfort zone! In other words, I wouldn’t try doing that even if someone paid me a million dollars. You might think it’s a bad call, but trust me… I’d just end up spending it all on hospital bills and wreck my health in the process. With that in mind… thanks very mucho, but I’ll just keep watching these cool videos sitting in the comfort of my own home.

Sunken matress touches ground, platform beds… solution found!

§ June 28th, 2010 § Filed under Uncategorized § No Comments

You know what, dear reader? This is one of those days where I jumped out of bed and cried out: “Today I’m taking action! Today, I quit stalling and get things done! Today… I’ll really going to get myself a new bed!” And I didn’t cry such a thing out with utmost conviction just because my old bed literally crumbled out under me last night. Well, then again maybe I did so. And no, there was no foul play involved leading to that incident. It really was a very old bed, and I was about to peacefully lie down, when… BAM! Off the mattress goes, towards the ground. I was so upset that I decided… well, I decided I’d get some sleep and do something about it in the morning.

What can I say? I was tired and the sunken matress was in a relatively flat position (despite having smashed abruptly all the way through the bed frame until it completely touched the ground), so… well I just figured I would be better off dealing with the whole issue tomorrow. And since tomorrow comes today, henceforth I woke up with a firm resolution to get things done. Yep, and I was even inspired by last night’s incident; I’m getting one of those Platform Beds, and that’s that!

In case you’re wondering, there’s more than one valid reason I’m choosing this specific type of bed. First, because they look really neat (I really enjoy the minimalist vibe, when it comes to furniture). Second, because my girlfriend also loves platform beds (and she’s out of town right now, mind you ; once again, there was no foul play whatsoever, leading to last night’s incident). And third, because by getting a platform bed, I will make sure such a thing won’t happen again, in terms of my mattress abruptly sinking down through the bed frame. All in all, you must agree I’m definitely making good sense, here! Now, for breakfast I go. And then…. shopping for a new bed!

Enjoy the summer sun with some great hotel discounts!

§ June 27th, 2010 § Filed under Uncategorized § No Comments

Good news, everyone! If you like travelling and you’re always looking for the best deals for out of town hotels, I just found something that will make you happy. It doesn’t matter where you’re planning to travel or how long you’re going to be there; over at Hotels.com coupons and discounts you will be delighted to find the best deals. I’m also a big fan of discounts and coupons, mostly because I don’t have a lot of money. What can I say? With a little ability and intelligence in choosing the best deals, it’s really possible to stretch those dollars and go farther away for longer periods of time.

If you’re not really into the whole discounts and barganing scene, I think you should give it a go! Even if money is not an issue, you’ll certainly enjoy the idea of finding a better hotel for a lesser price. It certainly is possible, just as long as you put some time and effort into it. With that said, I’ll excuse myself… I’m planning a little holiday escapde in the end of July, so I’ll be following my own advice on this one, and look up some good discounts. Have fun travelling around, and enjoy the summer sun!

Get a good lawyer, but most importantly… get smart!

§ June 27th, 2010 § Filed under Uncategorized § No Comments

So you keep fighting the law, and the law keeps winning? What can I say, maybe you should try to keep out of trouble… or maybe you just need a better lawyer. If you life in the West Coast, check out this website for one of the best Los Angeles DUI Attorneys I know of. And yes, I must admit I’ve already had trouble in the sunny streets of LA… back when I was young and reckless. Well, but there’s no reason to delve in problems past, is there? My personal philosophy involves learning from mistakes and moving on.

And in this case I think it worked, since that was the last time I was out drinking and driving. That’s actually a pretty stupid thing to do, I might add. And it’s remarkably stupid to keep doing it just because you think a good lawyer will manage to cut you some slack! Just think of all the REAL problems you can get into; accidents do happen, and they have a way of happening to people who think they’re immune. So, if you’re already in trouble… by all means get a good lawyer to make sure you don’t end up in jail. But when you’re once again free as a bird, make sure not to repeat the same mistakes over and over again!

Here comes the bride, she looks so nice!

Ah… it goes without saying, marriage should be the happiest day of your life! If that’s the case, you probably want to go all out to make sure everything is perfect, right? Well, I absolutely agree that’s a good idea, but all the while you should consider this: sometimes by cutting certain corners, you may be able to reinvest in other aspects of the ceremony. For example, if you get discount wedding invitations, you can use the money you save to get an even better wedding cake than you were planning… and it doesn’t mean your wedding invitations will be of lesser quality, much the other way around!

This is only an example, but you should know that I’m right with the whole underlying reasoning, here. Getting married can be extremely costly, and even if you’re rich, saving up is always a good idea. You never know when you’re gonna need some extra money, now that you’re sailing out to the vast seas of marriage. I wish all the best for this new adventure you’re partaking! I know when I get married someday, I’ll want to make everything I can to make sure it’s an amazing ceremony. After all, it’s just a once-in-a-lifetime kind of thing, right?

How to choose the right web hosting service.

§ June 9th, 2010 § Filed under Uncategorized § No Comments

If you want to have a website (and who doesn’t, in this day and age), then you need a webhost. I mean, you could just settle for one of those ready-made blogs or free hosting services… but if you want to get a sense of what being a webmaster is all about, finding reliable web hosting is of the essence. Now, if you’re really a novice website developer, maybe you don’t even know what that is… no worries: a web host is just a remote server where you put all the files that make your website. Otherwise people could just visit your little corner of cyberspace when your computer was on. Get it?

Also, don’t confuse a web host with a domain name. That’s just the address of the website you plan to have (such as www.mycoolwebsite.com or something like that), and in fact, you’ll need both things to set up your website. The thing is, choosing a good webhost is immensely trickier than choosing a domain name. Why? Because there are too many web hosts out there, and it’s not always easy telling which provides the best service (since it also depends on what you’re trying to do). There’s no need to worry, though: if you check a good web hosting review website, it will be easier making an informed choice! Go on and have fun creating your own websites.
