Hidden spy cameras and the redefining of privacy.
I must say I’m impressed! I mean, I suspected there were some sophisticated spy cameras available on the mass market… but I never really looked into it. Well, today someone showed me this website specializing in wireless spy cameras, and I was completely blow away with the diversity and creativeness in their catalog.
They’re making spy cameras so tiny these days, they can hide them in just about any type of common household object… and I don’t just mean teddy bears (like those infamous nanny cams); there are Hidden cameras in plenty of other innocent-looking objects, anything from alarm clocks to fire sprinklers and jean jackets! And some of those cameras have built-in capacity to record as much as 48 hours of footage! How cool is that? You could make your very own homemade spy movie using one of those gadgets!
Well… naturally I don’t mean to entice you to start spying on your friends and neighbors; besides being illegal, that’s an annoying thing to do. However, these wireless cameras aren’t just good for spying; you can also use them to protect yourself, of course. You could use them to monitor your own home, or to gather evidence against someone who’s been harassing you at work, of course. These gadgets are so diverse and innovative that you’re limited only by your imagination, when it comes to finding new applications to them.
Also, here’s a word of advice, one that I’ve been trying to follow myself: in this day and age, it’s best to let go of any illusions there is still something called “privacy”, because as these recording devices get more widespread and inexpensive… I guess they will surely redefine the way we conceive of such a thing.
