If you’re looking for unique and trendy jewelry, think leather!

§ October 6th, 2009 § Filed under ideas § Tagged , , § No Comments

Have you noticed the latest trend in accessories, as worn by most of our contemporary celebrities? I’m talking of course about leather jewelry, and in fact it’s no wonder there’s so many famous people who indulge this little guilty pleasure. A leather bracelet such as the one in the picture doesn’t only look really good: it also feels great on the arm! There’s something about leather that sets it apart from any other material: I’m talking of course about its unique texture and warmth-absorbing properties. Besides, recently a lot of amazing designs seem to have surfaced, and as such it’s no wonder many famous people choose leather over standard materials for jewelry, such as silver or gold.

When it comes to fashion accessories, I think this is where it’s at right now! I’m personally infatuated with some of these designs, and I should say this is probably one of the best ways of using this material. Just think about: the same amount of leather than would normally be used to make a single suitcase or a couple pairs of shoes can be used to create dozens of pieces of leather jewelry. Besides, a nice piece of leather jewelry is (at least in my opinion) much more interesting than an ostensive briefcase. If you’re looking to add a touch of class to your wardrobe, this is something you might want to consider!

My dreams of becoming a great dog trainer!

§ October 6th, 2009 § Filed under ideas § Tagged , § No Comments

For most of us humans, dogs are seen as best friends (from an inter-species standpoint, that is); but for some, dogs are a passion and also a lifestyle. Myself included, actually! Unfortunately… I don’t have much skill as a dog trainer, but I love watching videos of people who are skilled in this art. It’s just completely mind-blowing, what can be achieved in terms of human-animal communication by someone who’s a good pet trainer. I was checking out some on-line training guides for specific breeds of dogs (including some of my favorite, such as the Chesapeake Bay Retriever and the Boston Terrier), and they make it look so easy!

After reading through the information in those guides, I almost feel like getting a dog… but that’s such a great responsability! Besides, I’m not completely confident in my ability of becoming a good dog trainer, and if I didn’t succeed in communicating with my dog… I’m pretty sure all kinds of troubles and disasters would ensue. So, for the time being I think I’ll just stick to watching dog training videos online, as well as reading some training lessons. Maybe someday I’ll feel more prepared to take up on this challenge. It will be somewhat easier if I have a bigger house with a garden by then! Besides, I can always practice my dog training skills in the meanwhile, since some of my friends have pet dogs. Maybe I should take it one step at a time and coach other people’s dogs ocasionally, before taking up on the full-blown responsability of dog ownership.

Some people just seem to have a knack to making themselves noticed, don’t they? However, I should say that’s indeed something important, especially in the competitive modern workplaces; let’s not forget though, teamwork is also very important. If you somehow manage to put forth this kind of protagonism by relying on teamwork… you’ll easily get on your journey up the corporate ladder. Check this video for some inspiration:

If you want credit card relief, you should avoid spending money you don’t have!

§ October 6th, 2009 § Filed under ideas § Tagged , , § No Comments

We all love entertainment – that goes without saying. However, there’s a serious issue related with entertainment that doesn’t often get discussed as much as it should, especially since it’s something that concerns all Americans. You see, as interesting as it might be… entertainment usually comes at a price. I mean, an actual monetary price; that’s just how it works: getting entertained comes at a price, and sometimes we have to resort to credit in order to meet such price. Well, I don’t mean to get judgmental here, but as someone who’s actively pursuing a debt free lifestyle, I must remind you of the old adage: “credit money is not free money”.

I know for a fact that many people across the USA are stuck beneath a huge pile of debts, and I also know many of such debts were the result of hasty credit card usages, and a widespread live-for-the-moment happy-go-lucky kind of feeling. The problem about subscribing to this reasoning is that it will generally get you more problems than it’s worth… sure, you feel great when you’re burning away your credit card limits and enjoying yourself doing all kinds of things. But the day always comes when you have to pay for what you’ve spent, and that’s something most of us really don’t think about when we’re having fun.

To make a long story short and tone down on the patronizing, I think it will suffice to say: if you’re desperately looking for some credit card debt relief, maybe you’ll benefit from looking over this list with the best debt relief companies. But all the while, remember: the only thing that can permanently get you out of debt is the opposite mindset to that which got you in trouble in the first place. That said, we should all avoid spending money we don’t have: that’s what credit money is, after all!

Making custom candles? Maybe it’s best to look for materials online!

§ September 23rd, 2009 § Filed under ideas § Tagged , , § No Comments

Today is a nice warm day – which is surprising considering it’s already autumn. Since I didn’t have anything important I had to do, I decided to take the day off and help my girlfriend in her tasks. She owns a small arts and crafts store, and her latest project involves making candles. So essentially we spent the morning roaming around the city looking for all the ingredients, and now we’re about to get started doing the actual candles. Well, so far I really wish I’d have thought of getting prepared on time and ordering all the ingredients online… I feel that way it would have been much less expensive and troublesome, with better results all around.

For example, we went to literally a dozen of stores looking for some good-looking jars to place the candles in, and nothing we’ve seen seemed to quite please her… so she ended up choosing some basic jars, and she wasn’t so happy about that. Well, just as soon as we got home, it took five minutes of research to find out this website selling bulk libbey jars, which she adored. So she’s basically doing some tests this afternoon with the jars she got in the morning, and then wait a few more days so the new jars get delivered. If only I’d have thought about checking online for all the candle-making materials sooner!

Scar treatment using household items? Thanks god, you don’t have to be rich to succeed in treating your scars.

§ September 20th, 2009 § Filed under ideas § No Comments

Sometimes I used to wonder if only rich people are entitled to feel good about their bodies. I mean, we all have our flaws and imperfections… yet not all of us can afford to treat them, right? This is a lesson I’ve learned recently – while looking for a facial scar treatment that would help me get rid of a scar on my face that I got from burning oil earlier this year. Fortunately, through chance and perseverance, I did find something that restored my faith as well as my face. The best part? It was quite an affordable solution.

Well, truth be told – after doing quite a bit of research on the subject I was just about to give up, since I realized I couldn’t possibly afford a plastic surgeon to help with my problem. I was feeling really bad about myself, for being scarred in my face as well as my poverty; fortunately though, I came across this funny upbeat post discussing acne scar remedies, and I ended up learning about an amazing natural scar solution which is arguably the most comprehensive and natural scar removal method available anywhere.

Even though I have my feet firmly rooted on the XXI century, and despite valuing the role of science, I have always been much interested in home remedies. Through personal experience, I know there are sometimes products laying around our house which can almost work miracles when combined together. So, when I came across this product which allegedly offered the best scar treatment anywhere, which was actually a combination of common household items, I was very much intrigued. And I sure didn’t get disappointed with the results; I’m very happy to realize that one doesn’t have to be rich to get rid of unwanted scars, after all!

How about entertaining your feelings, for a change?

§ September 12th, 2009 § Filed under ideas, society § Tagged , , § No Comments

You know… sometimes I find myself thinking about love and entertainment. I think that sometimes we also get a little obsessed about getting entertained; in my opinion such thing may be the result of an unconscious need for affection, that translates in something I perceive as a hole in the heart. The way I see things, what we oftentimes end up doing is figuring out ways to keep distracted from this sentimental vacuum of sorts.

I may be wrong here, but I think that love isn’t necessarily detached from entertainment… although sometimes we use entertainment to distract us from our feelings. With that in mind, I’ve looked up some ideas to mix both things together: getting entertained and nurturing romantic feelings. To that purpose, I’ve found this love calculator and love horoscopes. You may think that’s stupid, but as far as I’m concerned it’s even more stupid to live a life void of feeling.

There’s nothing wrong with craving entertainment, that’s granted. What I’m trying to say is just… let’s find out a way entertain our romantic feelings as well! Let’s just take a break for our video games and TV shows and send some free romantic eCards! Let’s make sure we live a full live, and that our heart throbs with satisfaction and joy. Maybe we’ll soon realize life gets even more interesting once we learn to keep our thoughts and emotions in balance.

It’s all about numbers and I like it! Someone up for Bingo?

§ August 27th, 2009 § Filed under ideas § Tagged , , , , , § No Comments

Thank god they invented the Internet! You see, lately I’ve been looking for a simple and mindless game to keep me distracted, and I ended up settling for bingo. I used to dislike this game for being so straightforward and un-strategic, but recently I happened to get into it and I kind of liked it. And it turns out it’s actually a fun way to spend some time, so I started considering the chance of going out to an actual Bingo night, rather than just playing from the Internet. Well, that was until I came across the following video:

After watching this, I think I’ll settle for playing my bingo on the Internet, from the comfort of my own home! I have some friends who have also been getting adepts to those bingo sites, and soon enough we may start getting together for some live-action in-house Bingo. In the meanwhile, I think I’ll just stick to those free bingo websites, thank you very much. There’s something quite soothing about keeping and eye on those Bingo cards and hoping for the right numbers to come by. And it actually gets thrilling when you’re about to succeed filling up a card! Oh my, does this mean that I’m getting old, this sudden enjoyment of Bingo? Will I ever become one of those people in the video up there?

The grass is greener somewhere in beatiful Rome!

§ August 25th, 2009 § Filed under ideas, society § Tagged , , § No Comments

The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence, right? Well, in this case it might be more appropriate to say “the grass is always greener on the other side of the Atlantic”; don’t take it the wrong way, though – I’m a big fan of America and I absolutely love it on this side of the Atlantic. Still, I cannot help but feeling a strange lure calling out from Europe. But I guess that’s just my sense of the unknown; I usually chat with some European buddies, and they seem as fascinated with America as I’m personally fascinated with Europe.

If I could just pack up and take off for some European vacations, my favored destination would be Rome, Italy. Just watch this video and you’ll easily understand why! There are just so many interesting rome events and sights worth seeing, it’s mind-blowing! Also, when it comes to rome italy accommodation there are all kinds of picturesque rome italy hotels in a wide variety of price ranges. I’ve been doing my math here, and maybe it’s not unreasonable to plan some vacations in Rome… however I’ll probably wait until the Dollar gets stronger because right now Euro currency is too much of a badass – it probably gets sore for tourists. Oh, if only I was rich! I’d gladly spend a month or three hanging around Italy!

If you’re a Gothic loner, here’s something that might brighten your world!

emo person...

Have you ever noticed how the very modern Emo movement is actually quite similar to the Gothic movement from a few years back? I cannot help but wonder if the hard-core Gothics from yesteryear are feeling lonely and outdated. If so, I’ll boldly recommend this gothic chat as a way to make acquaintance with kindred souls with whom they can swoon in unison. Okay, so maybe I’m coming across a little prejudicious here – don’t take me wrong: I just think some of those people are a little bit too depressive, and that’s too bad. If you ask me that’s just loneliness, so once again… try and find some nice people who can relate with, alright? That’ll cheer you up for sure!

You can also get custom trading pins with your favorite gothic signs.

.... and Gothic person. Can you spot a common theme going on, here?

Do you know what’s so great about platform beds?

§ August 23rd, 2009 § Filed under ideas § Tagged , , , , § No Comments

I don’t mean to come across as a lazy person (I enjoy thinking I’m only moderately lazy), but I should say one of my favorite things to do is hanging around in bed… especially when I’m well accompanied! In fact, I’ve been meaning to get one of those contemporary platform beds, because they look pretty cool, and most notably because they’re not so rough around the edges… if you catch my drift. I’m really tired of bumping into the corners of the bed all the time! It can get a little sore and it kind of breaks off the mood; with that in mind I’m really taking a stand here, so I can keep lying down more comfortably. You gotta be able to set up a cozy platform from where you can seize life’s good pleasures, dear reader… they all sure go by in the blink of an eye.

The outrageous kamikaze driver: I wonder about his van insurance rates.

§ August 21st, 2009 § Filed under ideas, movies § Tagged , , § No Comments

Just a thought, buddy: get yourself a decent van insurance, will you? And if you plan to keep pulling out those kinds of stunts, you might as well get some life insurance while you’re at it! I really don’t understand what’s wrong with some people, risking their lives and vehicles like that. Sometimes I wonder if that’s bravado or just plain old stupidity. Granted, it’s an impressive move (I’m not even sure how that’s even possible), but all the while it’s just too pointlessly risky. Why would anyone take the chance of flipping their van, just to show off? Either it’s not their van, or they simply don’t care.

Lol.. okay, so I was going into cryptic mode just now. So what if that person is risking his own life? That’s just his problem, right? Well, I cannot help but wonder how much practice it must have taken before he learned how to pull off that trick… and how many cars and vans got flipped around and wrecked in the process. I’m betting that driver is subject to outrageous insurance rates, from being regarded as a “kamikaze” type of driver. Way to go, buddy! I hope the kamikaze insurance rate suits you just well! Hmpf, what am I talking about, he’s probably just a stunt driver or something like that.

Synchronicity, canon toner cartridges, and the awesome plan of making wall-sized posters!

§ August 21st, 2009 § Filed under ideas § Tagged , , § No Comments

Are you familiar with the term synchronicity, dearest reader? Such as, when events unfold in such a way that makes you wonder it was just meant to happen? Well, earlier today a friend was telling me about this company called GMSupplies that’s selling canon toner cartridges at discounted prices, and I didn’t really pay much attention, since I haven’t been using my printer much lately. The thing is that… this very afternoon, I got fixated to the idea of decorating my home with huge posters, with natural scenes and such (I think a huge tree covering one of my bedroom walls will look absolutely amazing).

Well, after doing a bit of research to consider the most practical (and least expensive) way to print out a wall-sized picture, I realized the best way to go about it would be by printing out mosaic-like pieces from my own printer using a free software I found, and just putting the pieces together on the wall. So naturally, I’ll need to get at least one extra toner, as to make sure I don’t get dry half-way through. And yes, you’ve probably figured it out by now: using the website I mentioned before, it will come out really cheap to make those enormous posters. In fact, I think I’m ordering an extra toner just in case, so… hooray for synchronicity!

The legendary off-season halloween party? You gotta see to believe!

§ August 21st, 2009 § Filed under ideas § Tagged , , , § No Comments

So, what does it take to make a perfect party? I’m thinking about rounding up all of my close friends and getting down for some major end-of-summer kind of action, this weekend… and I could really use some ideas. You see, I’d very much enjoy to put together a party of the legendary kind, one of those parties that people talk about for years. However, I suppose that’s easier said than done: after standing around scratching my head for an hour or so, I decided to look up some Internet videos that might be helpful. Well, the best I could find was this thing here, and I would boldly say those guys are nearly as clueless as myself:

Well anyway, I’ve been making some calls trying to get some really good ideas, and something came up that might be interesting: an off-season Halloween party, with all kinds of halloween treats and activities. Also, it would be a surprise thing: I wouldn’t tell people to get a costume beforehand; that would be just dumb. I’m thinking about just rounding up a bunch of silly garments and all kinds of crazy accessories and piling them up in the living room, right next to the liquor. Then, just as all the guests start getting boozed up just right, I’d proclaim we would actually be having an off-season Halloween party, and ask everyone to just improvise a costume using all that stuff laying around.

Also, I’m thinking about looking up a bunch of Halloween drinking games just to keep things fun, and when everyone is getting hyped up, the real fun begins: outdoor barbecue! While the barbecue is going on, I’d give a bag of treats to each guest, and invite them to go out and lure outsiders to the party. I’m guessing at this point everyone will be sufficiently inebriated to really get sociable and help draw a major crowd. I’m telling you dear reader, it’s going to be a thing of legend! How does that sound?

Debt Consolidation: Exit point from credit card hell?

§ August 19th, 2009 § Filed under business, ideas § No Comments

Do you know why they invented bags? I mean any kind of bag, purse or even box? It’s simple: people were tired of carrying around a bunch of scattered objects in their hands, and someone figured it would be easier to get by with they’d come up with something that could be used for that effect. There’s really not much room for argument here, right? Can you imagine how women (of all people) could possibly carry all their usual paraphernalia without using a purse? That sounds hardly possible, in my opinion – and by no means do I intend to get into a sexist reasoning here. My point is altogether a different one, although the example I just mentioned might be illustrative enough.

You see… it just occurred to me that debt consolidation is actually very similar to a purse or container. And sadly, it’s the kind of modern age container that more and more people have been forced to adopt. Well, it’s no surprise that most Americans are currently caught up beneath a stack of debts. The thing is, dealing with different kinds of debts can be notoriously daunting, since those random bills will tend to catch you off guard. Well, to this effect, debt consolidation can be quite useful: all your debts get placed in the same “box” and you get to be able to focus in a single bill. Not only that, the combined interest rates usually bring about lower monthly payments, so… if you’re suffering from credit card woes, this is something you might definitely want to consider doing: get yourself a box to help you carry your debts with less effort!

Little pig, little pig, get my playlist groovin’!

§ August 17th, 2009 § Filed under ideas § Tagged , , § No Comments

Here’s a cool little gadget you might not be familiar with: ladies and gentlemen, I bring to you the ipig. This cute little piglet is a full-blown iPod docking station, which supports most generations in the iPod / iPhone family; also, it’s compatible with several other music devices, from old school discmans to new age SD cards. Using this funky little device, you can recharge your portable music devices or just use the built-in speakers to get the neighborhood rockin’ to your playlist. A friend of mine has one of these and the sound quality is actually surprisingly good! And get this: the volume control is accessed through the piggie’s ears! Really nice! I’m thinking about getting one for myself, but I can’t make up my mind regarding the color… there’s a whole palette to choose from. Although I must admit the default pink actually looks pretty good!

See to believe: best way to get prepared for Mardi Gras!

§ July 24th, 2009 § Filed under ideas § Tagged , § No Comments

Setting up a good party can be a lot of trouble… unless you know just where to look to find all the stuff you need. For example, something as simple as getting a bunch of Mardi Gras Masks can be a real chore, if you’re going out to traditional brick & mortar stores. This is why I usually prefer going online for this kind of stuff. I mean, just check out this website, and I think you’ll agree it’s a lot neater and easier to use than browsing an actual store! Also, it certainly doesn´t hurt how the prizes are quite insanely low, right? I guess it’s one of those case where you must see to believe!

Do you believe in the power of herbal teas?

§ July 14th, 2009 § Filed under ideas § Tagged , , § No Comments

Do you believe in the medicinal power of plants – such as maca benefits? I remember when I was a young boy, my granma used to go on about how she used herbal teas to preserve her health. Like the good skeptic young boy that I was, I clearly dismissed her wisdom as senility. Back in the day, I was the scientific type (or at least I imagined I was) so the idea of using natural plants as medicine sounded quite moronic. In all truth, I was the one being moronic, and it took a bunch of life’s own twists and turns before I would realize it.

Now that I’m older though,  I’m of a different mind on the subject matter – and I happen to think I’m a little bit wiser, thanks very much. Not only do I believe in the healing power of herbal teas – something which I’ve already experienced – but I’m also a big fan of herbal supplements. As you probably know, there are several supplements which are getting hyped up nowadays, and quite often there’s a good reason why. Plants such as maca can be used to great effect as a way to prevent illness and keep the immune system boosted up. Suffice to say, if you don’t believe in the healing power of herbal teas, maybe you should think about broadening your mind – quite possibly your body will appreciate it!

Looking for vacation rentals? Think AD!

§ July 2nd, 2009 § Filed under ideas § Tagged , § No Comments

Ah… with summer time all around, this is the perfect time to start planning vacations, right? Well, if you’re like me, one of your favored plans is renting a vacations home in a really nice and relaxing place. But, if you’re also like me, you probably get picky while trying to find just the right spot for renting. Well, finding the right Vacation Rentals AD – Vacation Home Rentals is as much a science as an art, but using this website it can get much simpler!

Also, if you have a vacations home you want to rent, you should also check out this website, since it’s essentially a proxy for vacations rentals. And judging from their traffic volume… it works pretty well, too! I’ve heard people easily get more bookings by listing their vacations houses for rent in there. Either way you choose, just make sure you enjoy the summer and get relaxed!

Cheap pearls, nice gesture: I think she’ll like it!

§ July 2nd, 2009 § Filed under ideas § Tagged , , § No Comments

I usually don’t think mixing feelings with materials is a good idea, but well… I’m starting to like this girl, and I want to get her a little present – not as a gesture of courtship mind you, but just because I want to make a little surprise. So I’ve been looking for something nice looking but not expensive – I just met the girl and I don’t want to go overboard with crazy presents just yet.

So I’m thinking about getting a bunch of wholesale beads, since most girls really like those things. Also, I found out this seller that offers free shipping to all US customers, so that’s more pearls for less money if you ask me. There’s quite a diverse selection in Swarovski Crystal Beads, and additional deals and discounts are available via newsletter. If you have a lady friend you’d like to cheer up, maybe you should check out this website too!

What is an air mattress good for, anyway?

§ July 1st, 2009 § Filed under ideas § Tagged , § No Comments

See that air mattress reviews up there? Quick, tell me what’s it good for.

If you can’t think of anything else than “to lie down the house guests”, then sorry but you’re a boring person. Air Mattresses CAN be used for that purpose, of course, but they generally provide loads more fun if you try:

1) taking them in camping trips
2) camping at pool side
3) using as raft in pool
4) sleep in different places, shake things up.

Lol, come on! That thing is comfortable and portable! Let’s use our imaginations here, don’t you think we might as well?

I never knew getting a nice tan would be so tricky!

§ June 29th, 2009 § Filed under ideas § Tagged , § No Comments

I don’t get it, maybe I’m doing something wrong. I’ve been trying to pick up some tan lately, but to almost no avail. I guess I always get bored just sitting in the sun for too long; maybe if I got some of those extra-comfortable pool chairs, it would get easier? I suppose I could spend more time outdoors and get some sun, maybe while browsing the Internet or even doing a little bit of work. Well, I feel a little silly for buying pool chairs without actually owning a pool, but so what? This year I decided I’d pick up a decent tan, and no one’s stopping me from my goal!

Hmm… maybe I’ll just get myself one of those kiddies rubber pools to wet my feet, and learn how to make a couple of cocktails to keep me entertained. Lol, what am I supposed to do anyway, just stand there in the sun thinking of nothing? I’m always afraid I’ll fall asleep and get major sunburns; besides I keep thinking I’ll get tan lines in my face from wearing sunglasses, but if I don’t wear them I keep squinting and frowning at the sun, it also gets annoying. I had never realized how getting a decent tan could be such a daunting task… but somehow I’ll persevere and tone down just nice!

Head out to Washington DC for a different kind of weekend!

§ June 26th, 2009 § Filed under ideas § Tagged , , § No Comments

This weekend I feel like doing something different, so I decided I’ll pack some clothes and get into one of those Washington DC bus tours from America Limousine & Bus. The price is quite reasonable and the travel company looks alright, so I figured… why not give it a try? I’ve never been to the capital of our Nation, and when you think about it, Washington must be an exciting place! If nothing else, just because it was the cradle of our Democracy! And since I’m the kind of guy who values democracy (even though sometimes I’ve wondered just how democratic our federal government really is), I think I’m in for an amazing weekend!

I’ve been looking around for some touristic videos from Washington DC, and there’s actually some interesting pieces out there. The one I’ve embedded down there for example, it shows all the famous monuments you can check out while visiting that city. Well, as you can see, I’ll need to make haste if I plan to visit all these landmarks in a single weekend! I actually need to make a good plan, since it will be impossible to visit all of those places, and I hate to rush around all the time when I’m visiting a new city!

What if you had some expendable cars to practice your stunt driving?

§ June 25th, 2009 § Filed under ideas § Tagged , , § No Comments

There’s something inexplicably amazing about driving a car, isn’t there? The engine sounds, the picking of gears, and the amazing feeling of road going by and whistling wind… the whole driving experience is absolutely enthralling, and sometimes I get the feeling the vehicle is an extension of my own body. And this is when I feel like doing some driving crazy stunts, even though I oftentimes avoid actually doing so for the sake of security.

Yup, driving a car ban be a lot of fun, and if you’re a seasoned driver, there’s a good chance that you’ll occasionally feel like pulling some stunts. How many times have you felt like doing a parallel parking, just like in the video up there? I’ll bet it’s been more than a few times, and you probably just didn’t try it out because you were afraid to trash your car. Right?

I can totally relate with that feeling. If I was a rich man, I’d keep a fleet of old cars and set up some cheap business insurance, so I could drive around and practice my car stunts away, much to my hearts contentment. But, not being rich, that thought is somewhat impractical – sadly. I’ll just have to stick to watching these cool videos and dreaming away.
