Do you still watch television, in this day and age?

Ok, for some of you this may come across as a peculiar question – to say the least – but do bear with me for a little while, as I explain my point. The question I have in mind is “Do you still watch Television, in this day and age”? And the reason why I believe it’s a valid question is how, with the advent of the Internet and the proliferation of multimedia content, most of the younger people I know have substituted their time in front of the TV with time in front of the computer. It kind of makes sense too, since these days you can watch pretty much any show on-line, provided you know how to look for it.

Granted, this isn’t as convenient and simple as just sitting down on the couch, grabbing the remote and zapping away… as you can if you subscribe to one of those convenient DISH Network Packages they’ve been advertising lately. It goes without saying how such a service is much more comfortable and easy-going that looking up your favorite shows on-line. Not to mention that not everybody is quite proficient in the subtle arts of finding TV shows available on-line for easy streaming.

Well… whatever your preference may be, it’s safe to assume those DISH network packages are hard to beat, provided you can afford it. Those packages include hundreds – sometimes hundreds of channels, and they can be used in places where broadband internet access is not exactly blazing fast. Oh right, and using this kind of service does mean that you don’t have to wait for the computer to stream video content. You just turn on the TV and watch… it couldn’t be simpler than that. If I could spend more time watching television, I’d definitely subscribe to one of these tv packages!

To think that I used to collect pens as a kid….

Every day I get amazed with the things I come across in the Internet. The world is changing at a quick pace, and sometimes when I think about what it was like a decade ago, the contemporary reality now seems almost alien. For example, when I was a kid back in the 80′s, one of my hobbies was collecting pens. Boy, did I love getting new pens, and did I reveled whenever I happened to find a new one. It may sound dumb, but back in the day things were a lot different, and something as simple as buying a new pen might be something exciting.

To think that nowadays, there are websites selling personalized pens at less than a dollar! It really blows my mind away. Back in my youth, I sometimes spend several dollars to buy a unique pen… and that was twenty years ago! Nowadays I could simply order all the pens I could possibly imagine for a fraction of the price. Lol, on the other hand collecting pens no longer seems like such a fun idea as it did back then. Maybe it was me who changed, or maybe it’s just a different world? Well, I don’t see many kids nowadays with those kinds of hobbies, so I guess it’s not just me.

There are all kinds of people in this world, and that’s definitely a good thing! There’s people who hate jewelry, there’s people who prefer discreet jewelry, and then… there’s people who settle for nothing short of BLING! Myself, it’s a matter of the mood I happen to be in, but recently I’ve been drawn towards the whole hip hop jewelry thing, I must admit. Have you ever been to hollywood? Well, I haven’t – I must confess. And all the while, I don’t think the life of a modern day American can ever be complete without visiting the mecca of movies, and taking the full package while doing so: checking up the Hollywood hills up close, taking a stroll through the walk of fame, and of course meeting a few celebrities up close… or at least getting to know one of the several celebrities look-alikes that are so popular nowadays. Yes indeed, there’s much to see in the land of stars, and if you’ve never been there once, maybe it’s about time you think of doing so!

In case you don’t know where to start, I’ll give you a little help. First and foremost you’ll of course be needing a place to sleep, right? There’s much to see in Hollywood, so unless you’re planning to stay for a couple of weeks, you’ll better organize your trip beforehand. Well, otherwise you may just be happy about getting there and roaming around!

Thinking about throwing a party… want in?

Man, how time goes by! Sometimes a man will pause and look around him, only to realize his life is nothing like it used to be! A few years ago, I was renowned for throwing some very popular dinner parties on a regular basis. For some time there, I used to make a party at least every other week… sometimes twice a week, on special holidays. And to be honest, I really love doing that – and I still do. However, for some reason I can’t quite put my finger own, I seem to have got out of this habit. And that’s really a shame, so I decided I’m taking action right now!

I’m going to organize a pre-halloween party this weekend, and since it’s been as long while since I last organized an event I’m afraid my skill may be a little rusty. So just to be safe, I’m researching some powerful party themes to get me ahead of the game. Sometimes I wonder… do all Europeans see the prospect of travelling to America with the same glamour as most Americans conceive the idea of getting on Europe tours? Is that just the lure of the unknown moving our hearts and minds, that makes it work that way? I’m not really sure, but I suppose most likely yes. Granted, America has incurred a kind of a blemished reputation this past couple of years, but I imagine that crossing the Atlantic is still very much an enchanting notion, to most europeans. I just wish I could get out there and ask them, myself!

It’s true, dear reader! I very much wish I could afford doing a little travel-around through Europe. As a teenager, I almost went on a European InterRail, but I kind of chickened out. As a grown-up I’ve thought about visiting Rome and Paris a couple of times, but (the lack of) money and other circumstances ultimately left me stranded. At this rate, when I eventually succeed in crossing the Atlantic, I’ll probably get disappointed… “what, so THIS is what I’ve been waiting for all my life? It’s just a continent, and it’s not so different from America, anyway”. Yeah, sometimes I feel that anywhere you go, people are still people, and places are just places… but still, one cannot live a full life without getting to know a little bit of the world out there, right?

I really love it when life treats me with one of those synchronisms… you know, when different events unfold in a way that leads to a common destination, and you feel like everything is going just the way it was meant to by some kind of universal design or whatever you’d prefer calling it. Case in point, Trade Show Displays: just earlier today, I was writing a post on my nostalgia for trade shows, and how I’d love to check out a trade show one of these days, and maybe even get my own booth… and just now, I get a call from a friend who I haven’t seen in months. Do you know what he asked me about? Yup, you’ve probably put it together by now. My friend is a craftsman, and he’s planning to participate on a trade show nearby later this month… and he contacted me to help him track down some good deals on Trade Show Booth Rentals.

This is just amazing, isn’t it? I’m really overly excited about the thought of getting back on the old trade show wagon – this time around as an actual participant, rather than a mere visitor! So, I’m putting all my research skills into finding the best Trade Show Display Company in the country, since I really want this show to be something else. My friend has told me that if everything goes well in this Trade Show, he’ll need my help to organize similar events in the future… so I’m really looking forward to come up with something amazing and unforgettable. How about entertaining your feelings, for a change?

You know… sometimes I find myself thinking about love and entertainment. I think that sometimes we also get a little obsessed about getting entertained; in my opinion such thing may be the result of an unconscious need for affection, that translates in something I perceive as a hole in the heart. The way I see things, what we oftentimes end up doing is figuring out ways to keep distracted from this sentimental vacuum of sorts.

I may be wrong here, but I think that love isn’t necessarily detached from entertainment… although sometimes we use entertainment to distract us from our feelings. With that in mind, I’ve looked up some ideas to mix both things together: getting entertained and nurturing romantic feelings. To that purpose, I’ve found this love calculator and love horoscopes. You may think that’s stupid, but as far as I’m concerned it’s even more stupid to live a life void of feeling.

There’s nothing wrong with craving entertainment, that’s granted. What I’m trying to say is just… let’s find out a way entertain our romantic feelings as well! Let’s just take a break for our video games and TV shows and send some free romantic eCards! Let’s make sure we live a full live, and that our heart throbs with satisfaction and joy. Maybe we’ll soon realize life gets even more interesting once we learn to keep our thoughts and emotions in balance.
